Do you huys think it would be a smart pick. He did real good at Oregon and is now a projected 2nd round pick. should we take him with our second rounder and build up on our line in the first so if he has a good training camp he can start some games his rookie year Do you thnik he would be a good pick

I've got ESPN'S draft edition magainze, and inside they compare every prospect to a current NFL player, and grade them on a scale of 1 to 100. In the mag, they compare Clemens to Jake Plummer of Denver, and score Clemens a 70 out of 100. They say his mobility is his strength, and his composure is his weakness.
If we don't take one of the Big 3 QB's, Clemens would be worth a shot. But only in the 3rd round, taking him at# 35 would be too high IMHO.
There are certain positions from certain schools you just don't draft.. Qbs from Oregon is one of them..
and WRs from Florida, it used to be RBs from Penn St but Larry Johnson might have put an end to that..
I want no part of Brodie Croyle but Hackney is actually my sleeper in this draft. He's got one of the strongest arms in football and although he doesn't run much he is a physical beast (like Daunte Culpepper, he's impossible to take down.) He needs a lot of refining but don't be surprised to see him become a starter in 2 or 3 years. Clemens I don't really like. He's slow as molasses and makes way too many mistakes for somebody who relies on dink and dunk passes.
hackney is 5-11 5/8 and a weight of 240 pounds . in accurate as hell and this the guy you. this is who you want as our future?
I checked out his highlight reel on FoxSports and I thought it was more impressive that Young's, Leinart's and Cutler's. Who knows, it could just be great editing but he appears to be the real deal.
wouldnt you be embarrased... if we get Dbrick with our 4th pick, my friends at the job are already laughing at the jets even considering an OT that high. Dbrick will not save this team we need a playmaker defense or offense. Our opponents will not be staying up all night planning for an offensive lineman. For those of you who are pretending our QB situation is settled just stop fooling yourselves because its far from settled. Pennington alone makes a fool of the new york jets name and patrick ramsey doesnt have enough skill to be waterboy. I will always be a jet fan but you need playmakers. I dont care if we had the coaching staff from the pro bowl eventually you need big name players. So lets face the facts our team is far from contending I would even say a 5 year rebuilding process. Like I said no matter what happens:jets: I WILL ALWAYS BE A JET FAN
Yeah, that Fouts guy sucked. Don't blame the schools, blame the systems that produced them. Clemens was completely under Belotti, Tedford had nothing to do with him.
I was only half serious about that. Your right though, Tedford QBs are who you really want to stay away from. It still aplplies to Florida Wrs though nad that trend continues with Jackson..
nah not really.. in spurrier offense yes... jackson had a good year with a overatted qb. but than again he could be the next Jacquez Green, Ridel Anthony ... larry johnson broke the string on penn st rbs. so its possible jackson can break the string for florida wrs.
