Would it be a bad idea to bring in leftwhich if pennington cant return this season? I always liked leftwhich i mean our line wouldnt exactly be great for him but its worth a shot. I mean we dont know how good kellen is
I don't know if Byron would be a good idea. Kellen is our QB of the future and unfortunately the future starts this week against Baltimore. Young, Lienart, Cutler and Tavaris Jackson are all playing so it's time for Kellen to be the guy.
You move on and see if Clemens is the real deal. As much as I don't like CP as our QB, I'd hate for this to be the way he goes out.
If Chad is out for awhile you bring in a 3rd string QB to backup Clemens and Tuiasosopo. There's no point at all in bringing in the kind of vet who is available at this point in the cycle when you are not going to win more than 8 games no matter who you bring in. I'll go a step further: if any QB is going to win 10 games with the Jets this year (and odds are very against that) he's already on the roster. That would be Chad if he can go or Clemens if we get lucky and he's real. This is similar to the situation with Vinny in 2002. Nobody but Vinny or Chad, if we got lucky, was taking the Jets to the playoffs that year.
Gotta agree. Kellen better be ready if Chad's hurt. If he can handle the job and do it well, with his age and Chad due a big bonus next off season, this could be his chance to take over.
This is his best chance to take over. If he flops out here and Chad takes the reins back week 6 or 7 then the odds are the Jets draft a first day QB in the next draft and Clemens is on the beginning of the way out. In the NFL when a starter goes down unless he's a star he's at the mercy of the guys playing behind him on the depth chart because if one of them takes the job he probably has to wait for an injury to get it back. And odds are his contract makes him a cut or trade at that point. From Clemens point of view he's already aging out of the promising young player slot into the "why hasn't he won the job yet?" slot.
Anothr immobile quarter back but this one has poor vision of the field and tends to throw into the ground. No please no more punishment! Kellen will be the answer one way or another if Chad is sat down to heal. Lets concentrate on a back up for Kellen if this becomes a real senario!
Yea, and lets hope he doesnt look as bad as last week as all of those listed above, particularly young and leinart.
Very well stated. I hope Chad's not hurt, but if he is I'm looking forward to seeing Kellen in game action. If he's the real deal and can lead us to wins, its his job to lose at that point. Younger, cheaper, and no injury history.
We have to go with Kellen and see what he has. Not what I would have wished, but it's his chance to show the CS what he can do
