We do need a blocking TE and at that size, I would think he can fill that role nicely. Throw in the fact he that he can play defense and ST's is a bonus and frees up a roster spot. I like it.
Give me any versatility, the guy is doing anything that is asked of him, he won't be expected to catch too many passes anyway. Glad to hear that he is picking it up pretty quickly.

I was watching the Wheelhouse on SNY a few weeks ago and I think it was either Rhodes or Washington (can't remember cause they were both on a few weeks ago) that said the best player on their O-line was Brandon Moore. I'm not taking a position, just thought I'd mention it.
