Look.....11 months ago we lost in the AFCCG when we missed more tackles in the 1st Half (10) than we missed in the previous 3 games combined.

    We're all a bit raw.

Waiting 11 months....a lockout....high expectations....and yeah, the wasted off-season when we spent so much time on a wasted pursuit for Ashomougha (who I think is overrated and had a lousy year in Philly and was not as good as Cro was for us) when we had way more pressing needs at WR, OL, DL, LB, and safety.

20 years ago (and I've been doing this for nearly 40 years), when the season went down the tubes, you seethed in private, closed your room, cursed the team or their fates, and maybe cried.

You talked to your friends on the phone. Usually the kitchen phone, with no privacy.

You talked to friends at school or maybe colleagues at work. You all commisserated and bitched and helped one another get through it.

Today, with the internet and instant communication etc....it's alot tougher. We're all spouting every conceivable stream of consicuousness and unconsciousness. We're frustrated. We're pissed. We have 6 months to go until training camp, 8 months until the season starts, and 12 months go get back to the playoffs, if that, and probably 13 to get back to the AFCCG.

Let's keep it rational with our comments on Schotty, Sanchez, Rex, MT, etc.

    We're all hurting.

For me, it's going on 42 years straight since the Orange Bowl in '69. :-(

You realize we're not actually on the team, right?

How is anything typed on this website, rational or not, going to affect anything?

I'm talking about making sense and not coming out with idiotic statements, like Sanchez has to go, Rex has to go, and MT has to go.

As a SOJF I am actually fairly chilled out - this is pretty much what I expect from my NY Jets and they have not let me down. Thanks guys.

I agree it would be nice to have a rational conversation here but people just make topics over and over again about Mark Sanchez and such.

if Sanchez played consistent smart football I doubt anyone would be calling for his head after a disappointing season.

guess some fans are the type to keep stinky garbage in their house because the trash bag isn't full yet.

what the shit are you talkin about?

there are 10 different threads talking about the same thing, people screaming through caps lock, and a couple desperate ones

If you think sanchez should go, thats fine, its not about your opinion

I'm pretty calm about today's abysmal performance, but that's mostly because I gave up on the Jets making the playoffs after last week's game.

Look, if you go to any NFL fans message board after a loss, you;re going to get the same reaction.

It's going to be emotional because fans invest alot of themselves in the team. Today was a tough loss. The season was a disappointment,

    People just want to vent....

    (1) The cap hit on cutting him, plus the cost of a good replacement, takes valuable $$$$ from elsewhere.

    (2) No other better QB's are available.

    (3) We are not getting Luck and no other college QB is likely to be better.

    (4) Check out Phil Simms, Drew Brees, John Elway's 3rd years stats.

I thought the defense played extremely well today, yeah we gave up a long ass 21 play drive but we got nickel and dimed like crazy on that drive and thats really tough to stop. Other then that though lights out performance by the D and Cromartie looked beast mode today.

Good post. Still....you HAD SB III. I haven't had shit. 38 years and nothing with this team. Shocker....we seem to be going the wrong way again. It's old. I'll never stop rooting for the Jets (I can't). I just want to see them win once. We were so close (2 straight years)........and now the decline begins again.

    I'm all for venting.

I agree that Sanchez needed to play better this year.

I agree that the "O" had lots of problems for a group that looked like it had lots of weapons.

I agree the "O" line needs an upgrade.

I agree our safeties need a major overhaul.

But the 'dump everyone' mentality we are seeing is ridiculous.

I reiterate what I said back in July and throughout the year: to replace 3 of the 4 top WR targets for a young 3rd-year QB in a lockout-shortened year with questionable replacements at RT and elsewhere was totally off-kilter.

The one area where we were strong -- CB -- is the area where MT focused 90% of his energies late July/Early August.

Do I think Tannenbaum was idiotic in his pursuit of Ashmougha ? Yes, and said so at the time.

Do I think he should be fired ? Hell no.....

Let's focus on CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM not mindless criticism, that's what I am talking about.
