https://nypost.com/2021/12/19/jets-cant-start-hoping-again-until-disastrous-season-ends/ Not gonna cut and paste. If you read the article, you'll get it. If you have better things to do, so be it. Personally, its a pretty dreary forecast of the end of the Jets 2021 season sprinkled with faint hope for '22. Most of us have pretty much moved on from '21 anyway. Some of us are pretty shaky on '22 as well. I don't expect anything until '25. Patience has its rewards.. Sometimes...
Wonderful. We have two high 1st round picks to look forward too from a team that almost always blows it's high 1st round picks. No thanks. I'll believe it when I see it on the field.
I'm holding out hope that will get better in 2022. I say that while knowing that this team was so shockingly bad this season. Zach Wilson, for me right now, has NOT developed much if at all. The CS of this team is HORRIBLE. It's as if they knew they a honeymoon period and they're wringing it for every last excuse they can generate. I really did think this team would be better. But they are not with great emphasis on not. They're still a walking injury for about 4 straight years now. I just can't imagine the Jets getting as unlucky injury wise as they have been. The CS has done NOTHING but smile to the press and try to be their friends. Meanwhile, their stoic reactions to every bad play as they come does nothing but piss off the fans. Objectively, speaking this team needs... 1) a GREAT FA period 2) a GREAT draft like one for the ages, 3) a much better CS for the Jets to even fight for a playoff spot.
Not sure why there would be any reason for any form of hope for 2022. We'll still have no QB, a crappy OL, probably an only marginally improved WR corps, and a defense that will almost certainly be better but still be among the worst to ever step foot on a professional football field, in addition to a coaching staff that the jury is still very much out on. Yeah, I'm chock full of hope for next year.
I honestly would be perfectly okay with losing every game if Zach looked like he was a lock for the future. I know it's part him, part offensive line, part coaching staff, but he has showed me absolutely nothing all season long. He gives me no hope for the future at this point.
We haven't been blowing it on high draft picks. We've had shitty coaches who have ruined high draft picks.
The 2nd half of the Fins game confirms the Jets have quit and are just going through the motions looking forward to the season ending. What's the point of firing and hiring anyone, since they all come in with all this unreasonable high hope and end up crashing to earth after a season or two? Move the team to London already; the Brits will be more than happy to support and waste their money on these clowns, since they know nothing about American football.
Too early to give up him and he just got though a second straight game without an interception. He’s slowly catching on. Consider him running for his life today, no Moore, no Davis ….. in Sept he’d have 4-5 INTs. This is a huge offseason coming up. The Jets have a lot of holes ……
The last couple of games Zach has been very careful with the ball. That's better than throwing picks for sure but he's also let a lot of opportunities go by, either with inaccurate throws or being unwilling to let go of the ball and risk a pick. NFL competition punishes both the bold and the meek and Zach has gotten on that path where the punishment is not as visible as it was earlier in the season but it's still there.
Lets not forget he’s only played 8 full games - most running for his life - with a rookie coaching staff. The truth is coming out of BYU he probably should of watched most games from the bench this year. But today’s NFL apparently doesn’t permit that without raised eyebrows. Considering his specific situation he is improving whether the stats show it or not. Does he need work? Yes a lot …. I think this off season is very important for his development and working on mechanics. The ability is definitely there though.
The Chiefs sat Mahomes for a year. It can be done if teams don't listen to the noise from national and local media.
