Time to warm up Zach and get him prepped for the next game. White looked awful and when he did make a nice throw bums like our big free agent WR Davis fumbled it away. The Jets just look bad in all phases. They play or recognize stuff slowly. The offensive line is not even serviceable. Buffalo did what they wanted all game long.
The Mike White thing was fun while it lasted. Just goes to show how much this fanbase will, rightfully, latch on to anything that resembles competence. Now back to watching the ball land at the feet of receivers who are five yards away.
I don't think there's any question that Wilson will be the starter next week, unless there's some sort of set back during practice during the week with his knee.
And I think the Jets will beat the Dolphins. Mike White can be a decent back up. Remember Buffalo had a top defense also…White can only do so much as per his talent. Hopefully Wilson is the guy who improves…
I don't think there's any chance the Jets beat the Dolphins. The Jets couldn't beat a middle school team right now.
I honestly don't think the Jets are going to win. Their defense is just as inept against weak teams as it is against good teams. The Dolphins kept the Ravens out of the end zone this week. My prediction for next week: Dolphins 38, Jets 10, with the Dolphins going near or over 400 yards on the Jets' defense...again.
If Zach is really the guy and you want to protect him, I would go with Flacco this week and draft 2 O-linemen in the first round. Let Zach sit and watch. They're only going to get him killed.
I don't think White looked any worse than Wilson. Unless Zach is healthy and can look better than White in Practice he will do just fine on the bench. He can learn just fine without NFL defenders pounding him into the turf each week.
Go back and look at every pass White has thrown over 20 yards. He cant throw an accurate deep ball to save his life. That's probably why he never got a chance elsewhere. He is not starter quality.
This is an important point. He's already been abused back there. I badly want to see what he can do after his break, but I am terrified of him getting crushed back there. But if we wait until we have competent o-line play, he may not see the field for a couple more seasons!
After watching him roll up on the Bengals I think my initial reaction made a lot of sense. White is no longer averaging 400+ yards per game so it is safe to say that he has come back to earth.
So if a QB "rolls up on a team" in one start, they are "the man" and the definitive starter. Once they no longer average 400 yards per game they have "come back to earth." Got it
