Trying to think if any other ex-jet had a better career than he did after they left..nobody comes to mind.

John Riggins will probably own that title indefinitely

John Abraham played very well for Atlanta.
Vilma had a few good seasons when he left.
Santa Moss made his new team happy.

Riggins is of course by far the best ex-Jet, but Abraham is also way ahead of Woodhead - he had five double-digit sack years for Atlanta, and had six years for them where he forced at least 4 fumbles. I would also put Moss clearly ahead of Woodhead.

I think people tend to overrate Woodhead because they lump him in with "those New England little white receiver guys," but he wasn't even remotely in the same class as Welker, Edelman, or probably even Amendola. Even taking into account that he was a running back as well as receiver he only made significant contributions in five seasons of his career, and for his career he averaged less than 50 yards of total offense per game.

Keyshawn Johnson? He won a SB as well and continued to put up good numbers. He probably could have retired a buccaneer if he had not yelled at Gruden on sidelines.

Aaron Glenn. He made the Pro Bowl with the Texans. We didn’t have a choice losing him though.

Jets chose him to be exposed to the expansion draft... so losing him and his contract was by design.

Tony Martin? Drafted by the Jets in 1989 but we couldn't see anything in him so he was waived before the season.

Went on to have over 9,000 yards in career receiving, 56 touchdowns and four thousand-yard seasons in a five-year spell from the mid 90s.
