"Top weight lifters on offense, as voted by players: Keller, Tebow, Ducasse, Slauson, in that order." @DickCrimini We've all heard about Maybin / Sanchez bulking up, Scott / Ellis trimming down, But this is the first I'm hearing about Keller hitting the weights hard. If this is true this could mean good things for Keller. Contract Year, Put on some bulk, Sounds like he's getting setup to be that full on blocking / catching / a$$-kicking elite TE we all hope he can be. Fasano had a decent year last year under sparano and doesn't have half the athletic ability keller does. With run first / chunk play attitude, If Keller can improve his blocking it could make a huge impact on the offense this season. I'm excited to say the least to see how Keller goes through this year.
If he develops himself into 3-down TE (without the god damn cloaking) he's in for some serious $$$$$.
Pretty sure Keller has always been good in the weight room. He had sick combine numbers, he just needs to not drop the ball so often.
As long as this doesn't negatively effect his route running or pass catching skills I'm all for it. If memory serves me well, I think he had progressed well as a blocker last year.
When they say top weightlifters, I take it that they mean on a pound-for-pound basis, correct? There's no way in hell Keller and Tebow (as strong for their bodyweight as they are) could outlift Ducasse or some other massive lineman.
Tebow beat out one of our linemen in a "Hold weights out with straight arms as long as you can" contest.
Who cares what he does in the weight room, if you arent eating right it wont matter. Hopefully the guy is getting a ton of protein in his body.
