i sold my tickets to JETS fans yesterday so i could trick or treat with my kids.the past 10 years i have sat on the sunny side of the upper deck and a day like yesterday would not have been an issue with the wind and such.

but being in the new stadium and now sitting on the shady side, what was the conditions like? was it chilly?windy? both? what could i expect for the texans game being that my wife is coming with me.

    thanks

I am not 100% sure b/c I was sitting in the sunny side in the LLEZ. Having brought my compact binoculars, I used them during the many delays for TV timeouts and reviews of plays to check out what was going on around the stadium.

In particular, a lady sitting in 326 (which was basically across from my seats) row 25 caught my eye. High in the stadium and in the shade the entire time, she looked miserable as she huddled next to some sort of structure (I assume it was a TV or lighting booth). She had a full winter coat, a hat, and never seemed to move. Although the wind swirled a bit, the wind was definitely blowing in their direction for most of the game and that had to hurt.

On our side, it was nice (to warm) when the sun was out and the wind was not hitting me directly. Later in the game, when the sun got blocked by clouds and the wind was hitting me, I was a little chilly, but would have been very comfortable with windbreaker added to my game ensemble of: jeans, moc turtleneck, & jersey (when it got cold, I added a hat & gloves).

I was sitting in the Upper Desk sunny side, and I was burning up for most of the game.

I sit in section 319 and for the first time ever, it was windy in my seat and I mean it was REALLY windy. Its gonna be cold as hell in December if its windy and cold. Also, my seats are on the Jet sideline, equal to the back of the end zone and I was not in the Sun until later 1st. quarter so i guess the new place is not in the same direction as the old place? I could not believe how windy it was in my seats

December is gonna be thermal time. Late November... If your wife gets cold easily, I'd recommend getting her some thermals too. Best bet at keeping her toasty and not having to hear her complain about being cold all game.

I just have to know who the architect of this building is? I don't know if it is possible to build a worse Stadium than what they spent $1.6 billion on.

Leave him alone. He is just a staff architect at the MTA who was hired after Woody and the Giants decided to pocket $600m of the the construction cost as a "management fee."

His next project is a public restroom in Prospect Park.

17A----342 was windy (very windy) . Brought the wife and kids, we were all bundled / layered up/ hoods for kids, ear warmers for me and the wife. I cannot imagine what the place will be like when the temps are cold for real ?
ps the kids NEVER took the hoods off.

it was nice and warm on the sunny side. I watched the shady side through my binocs and saw the ski parkas and blankets on the bundled up STH who were so happy that they chose that side because it had "no glare" back during the offseason ticket buying months

I used to sit on the sunny side and am now sitting in the shade.

Big deal. So it's cold and windy. I might have to wear some cold weather gear to the game?

Pats- hater, we are just answering the question and guessing what's its going to be like in December. Ain't gonna stop me from going to the game, it might take another layer, no biggie. How many people in the lower levels will stay in the club/bar after the halftime? Plenty did that last Sunday and the Mezz on the visitor side was half empty. How empty will it be in December when its really cold. My buddy told me the bar was packed to the gills after the half

Anyone who's read my posts knows how I feel about this stadium, but if I can feel good about one decision I made, it was to sit in 301. We didn't even need to zip our coats, the sun was so warm on us. The wind was almost totally blocked by the stands. Getting up to enter the concourse, the first steps into the tunnel were like entering a wind tunnel. Fans hats will blow off and rain on the sections below.

I've been pissed that I chose one end zone while the Jets forced us to park behind the other, but it is worth it for colder-weather day games.

We ended up in the sunny side due to blind luck after we moved from 238a to 149 after the price drop. Given that the weather was relatively nice, I was surprised at how cold and windy it was inside the stadium.

During halftime, my friend made an interesting comment: "Can you imagine how cold it will be in this place when they try to host the Super Bowl?"

That is certainly something to think about. Having played golf in NYC in Jan and Feb, a good weather day is not completely out of the question. Nevertheless, they typically start the SB after darkness has set in (say 5pm eastern). By that time of the day, I predict temps in the 20's and high winds b/c of the nearby water. If it snows, the roads are going to be a nightmare as 82,000+ non-locals try to navigate their way into the stadium. Furthermore, there will be no "sunny side" to hide in.

Imagine spending $1,500+ to sit in Section 326, Row 26.

I know, I just love cold weather football.

I'm sure 17a is only asking because he's bringing his wife to the game for some reason, I do not know.

She might never let him tailgate with me again after the game...

pats-hater. Yesterday in 346 we had some sun when the game started probably until mid second quarter or so. I used to sit in 337 which is the equivalent of 346 and we never had any sun at all. It got a little colder at the end of the game but I was fine in shorts, under armour, long sleeve and jersey. I can also take the cold like a man.

when it's sunny and you have a 1 PM game, it is much better anywhere on the sunny side. For 4 PM games and night games, both sides are equal so I'm glad I made the sunny side my first priority in choosing the really great seats I chose. It was my first priority at GS and at Shea. Much prefer shirtsleeves on the sunny day to ski parkas and blankets

How long do you think he'll last before he decides to move his PSL? I'm figuring 3 -5 years tops and he's out.
