This might help slow down the fast pace of Brady on Thursday Night. I know he kicks ass in the snow but I remember a game years ago in the rain when the Jets beat the Pats....might have been the Favre era...errr...Minute ***edit*** (QB was Pennington....thanks Hard Hitta)

I sure someone on here can fill in the details...game ended on a Brady sack by Ellis I believe...could be wrong. I was listening to the game on the radio and was screaming at the top of my lungs and beating up the steering wheel when they won.

On the other hand could be hard on Geno ( anyone know any weather related game stats from WV) plus we'll really see what our running game/run blocking is made of.

I just hope no one on the d-line gets hurts and with that said I'd give Coples another week off even if he is 90-100%.

I predict Brady gets sacked 3 times one resulting in a runback score...Jets over the Pats in a nail biter on a Folk Hero 42 yard FG. Final 20-17

Is Mother Nature A Jets Fan?

The Thursday night weather forecast might be the final piece clicking into place to create the perfect storm against the Patriots.

Here is the game day forecast for the Thursday Night Football game between the Jets and the Patriots.

Thursday Night...Widespread showers with a chance of thunderstorms. Some thunderstorms may produce gusty winds and heavy rainfall.

Then some thunderstorms May produce heavy rainfall after midnight.

Humid with lows in the mid 60s. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. Chance of rain 90 percent.
Ordinarily this would be very good news for the Jets, as the nasty weather would likely act to slow down the Pats dynamic passing game. However, with nearly all of Brady's usual receiving suspects out, doubtful or questionable for the game, I'm not sure this will play as much of a role as it might otherwise have done. Still, with Brady at the helm it can't hurt to have the weather on the Jets side. It would appear that all the stars are aligning at precisely the right moment to produce a shock-the-world moment for the Jets. Maybe Thursday night even Mother Nature will be a Jets fan.

I'm pretty sure that was 2006 with Mangini and Pennington.

The game you are referring to was in Foxboro in 2006. It was the second meeting between the Jets and Pats. It was Mangini's rookie year and that victory was the impetus for the moniker "Mangenius". We blitzed them a ton in that game and Mangini did a really good job of disguising our defensive fronts. We tried the same tactic in the wildcard game against them later that year . . . It didn't work out too well.

I don't necessarily see bad weather as being particularly helpful to the Jets cause.

A heavy downpoor will wash Brady's makeup and foundation off. He'll gain ten years before even getting hit.

    It's a good thing for us. But us not being able to run the ball effectively might hurt us, as well. Game time will tell.;

oh, you must be referring to all the dropped passes by the WRs last week against the Bucs.

    oh wait, there weren't any...

The only player with a "history" of drops is Hill, and that has been largely overblown due to the timing of the drops

Also, we are now Pass first offense relying on timing routes and precise drop back from the QB.

The rain will hurt both teams, but since Pats ran the ball well last week the weather might favor the pats.

Who do you think the rain is going to hurt more, Tom Brady or Geno Smith? I hope it doesn't rain.

Since Geno can tuck the ball and run for a first down better than Brady can, I'd say advantage Geno.

With our blitz happy defense hopefully Brady will make some errant throws that lead to INTS.

Geno always had trouble in the cold and wind at WV. Rain was not too much of a problem.

Loving all the new Geno avatars! Might have to get me one of those to show my support.

On topic, I think 2 factors help the rain favor the Jets. Our swarming D could result in a pressured Brady making some hasty throws or getting sacked, and as already mentioned, Geno's ability to run affectively when pressured. I'm really looking forward to this game!!

It could be. Normally crazy weather games favor the defense on both sides and we all know which defense is better. It could give us the slight edge we need. Or it could make Geno struggle. Guess we'll find out. Either way this is very winnable game with all the injury issues on the Pats.

    Don't worry,
the NFL will delay the game because of lightning strikes in Kansas...
