When Adam Gase was hired we were told he was an insane, crazy taskmaster that was hated by players in Miami. His press conference announcing his hire showed great promise...what with his eyes darting around the room like a guilty pie thief. He then undermined Mike Maccagnan...stabbed him in the back and got him fired. Immediately, he started cutting players while interim GM. I wish it would have lasted longer but he then hired his crony to come help his evil plan. Then he pisses off the overrated & overpaid Le'Veon Bell. Good for you Adam Gase...telling it like it is. Great I thought. We finally have a head coach willing to do the dirty work that Todd Bowles didn't have the stomach for. Then I see this video....I had to let it buffer for a minute...but it's worth it. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/video/adam-gase-micd-up-at-new-york-jets-training-camp/vi-AAFniod What the fuck? Where's the evil Sith Lord we were promised?
I think everyone needs to see this guy actually win some games before we get all rah rah = I am still not a believer in this guy he needs to SHOW ME until then its a bunch of guys sweating in August playing meaningless games
Sorry. I guess it's hard to follow. I'll do better once the season starts...I promise. Thumbnail version. Gase was supposed to be a megalomaniac. But the video shows he ain't.
When guys are mic'd and others know your micd they act a little different. It's good to see coach is trying to develop player relationships, and getting at the QB for not being vocal. So in the video we learned coach is more normal than we thought lol
I think you right and thats the problem... Hes so likeable that its scaring the fans. They dont want another player friendly coach
Gase was definitely a product of media bias. He’s a damn good coach who did a pretty good job in Miami. We’re at least equivalent to the talent they had during his tenure there but the huge advantage we have is that 1. We have an experienced Gase 2. Darnold is better than anything he had at QB 3. Williams is a better DC than he had in Miami
It's nice to have a HC who has worked with successful QBs and has proven he can design a successful modern offense. I can believe he will get the best out of Darnold IF Darnold is who we hope he is. Really he has to win right away. The entire point of bringing him in a "experienced" HC and the spending spree the team went on this offseason is to avoid having a growing pains type of season. He MUST win right away.
Just judging him for what it is, the off season and training camp I couldn’t be more impressed. This coaching staff does not stand for mistakes and who plays is based on performance not on prior records or how much money they make. That said I don’t know how he manages the game and clock and how aggressive/smart he is on decision making. That was my issue with Todd Bowles along with penalties and missed assignments on defense. So until I see him manage a game the jury is out. But to date I couldn’t be happier. We have 2 home games to start the season and then a 4 game run that will define our season so this team better come out of the gate flying or our season could be in jeopardy right off the bat. That’s how I am going to judge him
Nah. The primary goal for this season is for Darnold to take the next step. That’s why Gase was brought in. His back isn’t to the wall with a playoff mandate or a winning season as the bar.

Read it. They're all butt-hurt because Gase said this- “It’s easy for me to call plays…he’s not the kind of quarterback you’re looking to protect; you’re looking to turn him loose,” said Gase. “There are no limitations on him. That’s fun as a play caller.” The "Is It Safe To By A Rosen jersey?" thread has way more action.
