Dude after today's game who cares. We didn't even score bro, there is nothing strong enough to get rid of that kind of stink unless we win next week.
Yeah, next week we have to win pretty big, just to really prove that they know (or are beginning to know) what they're doing (coaching staff).
You're only as good as the last game you played. Unless we totally demolish Miami, I won't be convinced of anything.
Here's something to depress everyone, we have the SAME record after 5 games as the injury ravaged 2005 NY Jets.
Junc, this team is dependent on Chad playing well. Chad spit the bit from the opening gun yesterday and on the road it was downhill from there. Miami at home is a much better match up. I expect Chad and the entire team to play much better. Chad set the tone early and the team followed his lead. It was also a terrible match up and a trap game for us. Get over it.
Chad also didn't have any receivers open and as usual no running game. jax is way too quick and physical a defense for our offense. I agree we'll have a much better go of it this week. This is a HUGE game, the biggest of the Mangini era so far. I want to see how this team responds to the thrashing they took this week. I think they'll respond well- they better or we could be in fro a long season again.
It was hard to tell if anyone was open or not? The fact is early in games Chad has been tentative to just let the ball go. In this game our lack of early production set the tone for the entire game.
eraly in games Chad hasn't been throing as we have ben trying to establish a non-existent running game and that's the main reason we have struggled early. Chad had plenty of time to throw all day yesterday and throwing 3 picks(the first one coles was open but it was a bad throw) and not being able to complete many passes tells me the receivers were covered.
Maybe he got gun shy after the first INT? After that first turnover he just ate the ball a couple of times and then started forcing it again which led to more turnovers. The announcers were making a big deal about how the Jets were only sending 2 guys out on passing plays which would account for why every guy Chad tried to throw to was triple covered.
The first 13 plays 7 were passes. We averaged 1.9 yards per pass attempt yesterday. Chad is calling the protection and the plays. He failed to move the Jags back early. When they were up at the line he never took the shot down the field or spread them out. He kept the team in max protection and tried to make 6 yard completions with a stacked box. It was a bad game plan but Chad did nothing to expose Jacksonville.
yesterday we threw more in the 1st qtr and we were moving the ball before the first INT but the other 4 games we have come out running.
