2008 DRAFT ORDER 1. Miami 2. St. Louis (tie) Atlanta/Oakland/Kansas City 6. N.Y. Jets 7. New England (from San Fran.) 8. Baltimore Thank F we are picking before NE , YOU KNOW they would try and pick whoever we were going after
Remember how we got revis when we did.... The pats were trying to leapfrog us to get him out of our clutches which forced us to make a bold move to get him.
Long will be gone by the time the Pats pick, so they'd have to move up, giving up picks to get him (and they lost one huge move up bargaining chip by virtue of Spy Gate, thank God for Jet's Meadowlands security!). I wouldn't mind seeing New England moving up ahead of us to take Long if they have to give up a 2nd and 3rd. They're not the youngest team in the league, Linebackers are old (see Bruschi and Seau) so if they start the Redskins theory of 2 draft picks a year, than that IMO helps the Jets..
I wouldn't be surprised to see them trade their entire draft to move up to pick McFadden. Only one of their draft picks last year made the team so it wouldn't surprise me at all if they think only one pick will make the team so why not make it a high pick.
The Pats don't need a RB. Maroney is fine. They just didn't run this year with the protection Brady had and the receivers they acquired. McFadden is not what they need. They will draft a LB with their first pick. This infatuation with McFadden is ridiculous. Not every NFL team is drooling over another college back whose success may or may not translate to the NFL, where holes are smaller and defenses are twice as fast. The game is different in the NFL when the DL and LB who weigh over 275 pounds are stronger and almost as fast as a guy like McFadden.
Right! The Pats worry about what the Jets are gonna do. I still laugh when I think about how BB played the Jets a few years back when they put it out that they wanted Robertson and were set to trade with the Bears to get him. So the Jets made a hideous trade up to get him ahead of them, when the Pats got the guy they wanted in their own spot (Warren) all along.
Pats are to cheap to pay a rookie 20 million guaranteed second, they never trade up what they will do is most likely trade down... they need a safety because harrison is old and I dont think last year's 1 pick is any good who knows? what do yu guys think?
I think Merriweather is going to be good. Not as good as the guy you guys got (Revis), but a definite starter. I also somewhat agree that they won't want a high priced rookie. Not because they are cheap (they are in the top ten in total salary in the NFL) but because they don't like to give alot of guaranteed money to unproven talent. I wish theleague would got the NBA way and slot the rookies. That would be good for the league because there would be more money to pay veterans.
1. Dolphins - Glenn Dorsey 2. Rams - Chris Long 3. Raider - Darren McFadden 4. Falcons - Matt Ryan 5. Chiefs - Jake Long 6. Jets - Vernon Gholston I don't think it really matters what order the 3 win teams are in. The Dolphins, Chiefs, and Rams won't pick McFadden, and the Falcons need a QB.
he was on the PUP this year for the first 6 games.and yes football years 28 is up their depending on position.you should always fill the need a year or two behind its needed.therefor you have a smooth transition,no>?
1. Miami -Dorsey 2. St. Louis - Chris Long 3. Atlanta - Matt Ryan 4. Oakland - Darren McFadden 5. Kansas City - Jake Long 6. N.Y. Jets - Gholston 7. New England - James Laurinaitis 8. Baltimore - Brian Brohm edit* PHYR... weird... didnt see your previous post.
In some situations I'd agree but if I were NE I'm not worrying too much about Seymour... the guy is a beast and will continue to be one despite the injuries. Even if he does end up flopping because of the injuries, his backup Jarvis Green is also a beast.
