We need a coach with balls. No, not the kind of balls to go for it on 4th down. The balls to stand up to the front office of the Jets and to Brett "I think I'm smarter than my coach" Favre and say STFU this is my team now and I call the shots. That's why Cowher would be the best choice but, of course, he doesn't want to deal with the drama and I can't blame him. After that, I think Shanahan is the best choice to take over the team and not take shit from anyone. Does Marty have that kind of attitude? I don't think so. He's more of a "win within the limits I'm given" kind of guy. And he's great at that but that's also why he never wins the big games. And I just can't respect him after that playoff game the Chargers lost to the Pats (the one that cost him his job) where the defensive player caught the 4th down interception when he should have swatted it down and then fumbled it. That play made me angrier than any I've ever seen in all my years as a football fan. Spagnuolo definitely is not that type of guy. He might try to be that type of guy but, like Mangini, he doesn't have the reputation to make a stand. What other coaching candidates have a pair?
