Ike Taylor, who we targeted before dyson is available, and imo, would have been the better choice! He is bigger, faster, and younger than dyson, and can return kicks along with miller. These are the kinds of decisions that make us fall short during the season. If anyone hasn't noticed our trends of either 1. drafting in the top 10, 2. finishing .500 and missing the playoffs, or 3. making the playoffs and losing 1st rd. (98 and 02 not included). We may not have the cap space for them, but Arrington and Hopkins are impact players and so is Javon Walker, (although GB says they arent trading him) would increase our chances of going further. With a healthy QB and those 4 players, does anyone besides myself think we'd be a top contender?

Taylor is a restricted free agent. We would have to cough up compensation to Pittsburgh to sign him.

    A few things here....

Tylor is only 1 year younger...and 5 lbs bigger...moving on..

You say you want to go younger? Hopkins is 36...he has already stated he does not want tp play for any team...Impact player...please....

Arrington, impact player? Yup he just lit it up in Washington....

Ike Taylor carries a 1st round tender, and we're not talking 29 here. You have to give up YOUR SELECTION or higher.

This means without working out a deal with Pittsburgh we'd have to give up #4 for him. Pittsburgh probably takes #35, but what's better:

    Dyson + #35 or Taylor?

    Because that's the deal.

Walker is a great reciever but there are alot to questipns about him. He is comin off a major knee injury, he wants big money and we dont know how well he has recovered and right now we dont know if we have anyone to throw him the ball. Also, the FO may not be interested in him because they are stressing high character guys, and he has has his problems with the FO in GB. On top of all that ,they said they want to keep him.
Hopkins wouldnt be a bad stop gap on the OL, but he doent want to move far from his home, so he is thinking about retiring.

Hopkins is basically retired, he is an impact player about as much as Tony Siragusa

Taylor costs way to much, why not take Huff or Williams instead to bolster the secondary, not my choice but i think they are better than Taylor for our 4th

Walker had 1 solid season and missed 16 games last season so he is a risk, but because of his last full season, they will want lots of compensation if he is traded

Arrington is as far away from cerebral as a linebacker gets, the guy is borderline challenged, I played with a guy like that in high school, his play was "go get the QB" or "tackle the RB", sure he was great at that and he was extremely athletic but could not hold alot of schemes up top
