Maybe they laughed because it's funny?

The Jets are not a playoff team. Even if somehow we managed to beat the teams we think we can right now, we still won't beat the good teams. Those are the ones who get to the playoffs. If we miraculously made it, we'd be out in the first round.

We beat the Titans and Bills. Had we beat NE, and then Indy next week, then I would say we could be a legit playoff contender, but let's try not to overstate our progress.

...I don't think it's overstating our progress that after 3 games we have half as many wins as many people thought we would (myself included) all season. I also feel that the schedule we have with many teams in a worse state than us we have an outside chance of being in the playoff hunt in December. I don't feel in any way that playing a quality opponent on the road in the playoffs would be an ideal situation.

Who cares about that stuff right now. Let's enjoy where we are right now and hope things continue to go our way...

The league must be in a sad state if we're a playoff team. We've got a ways to go.

There is a chance we make the playoffs. Our schedule is easy and no one (besides me) thought Miami was going to be bad we could wim 9 and make playoffs

Around the Horn is the 2nd worst show on TV. 1st being Cold Pizza.

Any show involving Woody Paige or Skip Bayless is awful. A Drunk and a moron debating. Hooray.

Yea we've got Mangini anything is possible, but yea right now im just enjoying some good quality football sumthin Hern didnt give us. Even in the loss agaisnt NE it was still entertaining football we were throwing the ball and actually trying to win the game. Also whats good about our team is there gonna just get better so we might not go to the playoffs but were still gonna get some good quality entertaining football to watch.

Around the Horn has been one of the few shows on ESPN that I actually like.

Alot of us on the board thought Miami was overrated. Yesterday's game proved it even though they squeaked out a win. The Titans are TERRIBLE and still almost pulled it out on Miami's home turf. As far as the Jets being in the playoffs, stranger things have happened. They won a game yesterday they probably shouldn't have. The Colts and Jaguars provide match-up problems I'm not sure the Jets can overcome but after that we're looking at Miami, the Lions, Cleveland and games down the road against Houston, Buffalo at home, at GB and Oakland, with that schedule and another upset or two, the Jets can make the playoffs despite some gaping holes including the DL and the lack of a running game......bottom line if Mangini gets this team into the playoffs even with the easy schedule he may very well be coach of the year....

The Jets were a playoff team 3 out of the last 5 years without being able to beat the good teams. It was part of the Herm Edwards legacy: get there with little or no chance to advance.

Don't take this the wrong way.... but are you like, bi-polar? Mangini being over rated was proven in the Bills game? "Squeaked" out a win? When was that, when the Jets were up by 16 points late in the 4th quarter? There is a guy here named Champ69. I'd like to introduce him to you. He may be a long lost relative, but he hasn't been heard from since the win over the Bills in their home opener.

It looks like you are the one who is bi-polar. If you read the post carefully, it refers to the Dolphins being over-rated - not Mangini. "Squeaked out a win" refers to the Dolphins game yeaterday vs the Titans - not any of the Jets games. I think Mangini is doing a superb job.....

Woody's not a moron...he just has a speaking voice that definitely sounds borderline retarded old man, but I got past that the first time I saw him. He also jokes around way too much, so I can see why his credibility is lost in a lot of people...

So what your saying, is that unless you can beat the Colts and Patriots, arguably the two best teams in the league over the last half a decade, you cant make the playoffs?

If we had beaten the Patriots, and went on to beat the Colts next week, then people would be calling the Jets one of the best teams in the AFC.

You win ten games, you make the playoffs, thats the general rule, and theres no reason, with the schedule the jets play, to say that they cant do that, judging by what weve seen so far.
