We're dead, and deserve to be if any of us are being truthfully honest. That second New England game was a blow we never recovered from. Progressively got worse and worse, and yeah I know we beat the Bears without Fields. Oh but our defense is still top 10 I know stat geeks.
were dead give it up, we will end up 7-10 and people will keep praising Saleh like no tommorow, the day we hire a proven coach is the year we make the playoffs next, Saleh choked the season. Flame me all you want but he did. Mike White starts day 1 instead of Flacco we make the playoffs with ease. Season plays out much different and even Breece Hall's workload is much less and he may have never been injured. This season is a distaster and wasted a top 5 defense, next season we will need to cut people on the defense espicially if we want to improve the line.
If we can just find a way to sneak in, I see Zach going 36-41 for 592 and six TD’s plus 147 more on the ground and a rushing score at Buffalo. All of this happens after White gets dinged up midway through the 3rd quarter. 61-3 Jets.
Yeah that'll happen the same game Saleh uses all 3 time outs properly and we don't get 14 false starts like a incompetent bad coached team.
Any other team in a similar spot but with a QB ranked in the top part of the bottom 3rd at the position would probably feel ok about their chances.
The only reason the Jets will make the playoffs is to give us an even worse draft spot and prime time humiliation and then watch us trade the farm to go up and grab another QB (that will bust and the cycle repeats itself)
As unlikely as it is, the Jets might enter the Seattle game controlling their own destiny. If that ever did happen, the team BETTER be ready.
The Jaguars would also have to lose another game, and the Chargers would have to lose 2. We need more help than Kim Kardashian's next boyfriend.
The Chargers dont matter if they take the 6th spot. The Jaguars play the Titans so one of them is getting another loss and if we all end up tied at 9-8 the Jets have the tiebreaker over the Titans for whatever reason it seems. It really comes down to the Pats games. If the Pats lose to the Bengals/Bills and beat the Dolphins then the Jets have a chance. I wouldn't favor the Pats against the Bengals/Bills, and the Dolphins game is in Foxborough so its not impossible.
I'd love the playoffs. But I just want to watch competitive football which we haven't seen since White went down. They've surpassed my season expectations in wins, and we know what we have in Zach (jack shit) which was the most important thing this year.
This season is dead. If they couldn't show up last night in what was essentially a playoff game against what I believe was said to be the 27th ranked defense, how are they going to get up for the next two games, which involve cross country flights against solid football teams. Having someone other than Wilson start against Seattle will give them a bit of a lift, so they'll keep that game close potentially. But they'll lose because that's what the Jets do, more often than not, during playoff chases. Then Miami will completely blow the doors off of the Jets and send us to the 7-10 record this team deserves.
Truth be told, Saleh and staff were severely outcoached and painfully schooled in the last two games. First there is that 51 yard 4th and 1 pass and subsequent gross mismanagement of the clock on the Jets final drive against the Lions. Then the Jags coming in looking like a no nonsense well-oiled machine, while the Jets were arriving at the stadium in overgrown pink bunny costumes looking like they were ready to go on some easter egg hunt instead of a playoff hunt. To the surprise of few, the Jets were only able to come up with rotton eggs. So now after an 0-4 December, there is still playoff life to be had if the Jets somehow get their shit together and win the last two combined with about ten other unlikely scenarios occurring? In other words, an 8% chance of making the playoffs translates into two meaningless January games. A team which only needed to play pedestrian .500 ball during the second half of the season to reach the playoffs now finds themselves on the outside looking in and having more questions than answers moving forward. After the last few duds, taking a break from Jets' late season meaningful games can only be good for one's health.
Yes we are out. So glad. Now to watch competitive football in January. By the way. Get rid of the bum who is impersonating a NFL quarterback
