I will let you guys get to it then... http://walterfootball.com/draft2009.php

    Jets Picks plus reasoning....

    Round 1

New York Jets: Chris Wells, RB, Ohio State
I've probably received more e-mails regarding this pick than any other. Most Jet fans want a receiver here in the wake of Laveranues Coles' release. Others think Josh Freeman is the way to go.

Receivers fell last year, and we may see the same thing happen again. I only have two receivers in the first round of my 2009 NFL Mock Draft for that specific reason. Plus, there are rumors that the Jets are interested in acquiring Torry Holt.

I also can't really see them going Freeman because general manager Mike Tannenbaum drafted Kellen Clemens and also acquired Brett Ratliff. If the Jets had a new general manager like the Chiefs, 49ers, Buccaneers, etc., they would definitely go with a quarterback. But the Jets don't have a new regime in place. Tannenbaum is not going to sit on the hot seat while a young quarterback develops.

The Jets need a young running back. Thomas Jones is 31 and is likely playing his final season with the team. Chris Wells and Knowshon Moreno will be way too difficult to pass up.

    Round 2

New York Jets: Louis Murphy, WR, Florida
Laveranues Coles is gone. The Jets needed a pure No. 1 wideout even before his release, but now they're even more desperate for help at the position.

    Round 3

New York Jets: Vance Walker, DE/DT, Georgia Tech
This isn't a big need, but the Jets could use some help up front in their 3-4 defense.

    Round 4

New York Jets: Cornelius Lewis, OT, Tennessee State
Overpaid and overweight Damien Woody surrendered 6.5 sacks in 2008. He was also whistled for five penalties. The oft-injured 31-year-old is a tough run-blocker, but he's an abomination in pass protection.

    ------------------------------------

Well um.... I really hate this mock from a Jets perspective... his reasoning really blows as far as the Jets are concerned... but Walter Football has generally been good in the past. So really just looking for some opinions on this draft...

Guys we passed on who we may be interested in...

Round 1/Early round 2: Rey Mauluaga, Jeremy Maclin, Alphonso Smith, Sean Smith, Patrick Chung, Kenny Britt, Ziggy Hood, Aaron Maybin, Hakeem Nicks (Pick 50 Browns)

Round 2: Brian Robisikie, Jarron Gilbert, Donald Brown, Shonne Greene.

So yeah... Not exactly the best Jets top two picks... Good lord if Hakeem Nicks is there in round 2 and we didnt go WR in round 1 people will flip. of course with Gilbert still there that would be a better move imo. but good god, to pass on both for the LESS explosive, FLORIDA reciever in the second round? Tanny wouldnt make it out of Radio City Music Hall alive without Secret Service protection...

edit: mock updated now Nicks is going to Cleveland(50) and Robiskie to Miami(56)...

Yea I saw that mock the other day and was like WTF he sucks and then went on my way.
I do not want Beanie Wells he has injury concerns I cant think of any 1st round talent RB in draft I do want actually. Wouldnt mind Shonne Green or the name escapes me right now the guy from Pitt in the second. WR or DE imo is 1st round priority or trade down and see if can grab 2nds from say the Eagles

Awful Mock....I dislike all 4 players for the Jets. Hard to believe the author believes Louis Murphy is a "pure #1 wideout"..........crazy.

Yeah Murphy seems to resemble Harvin 2.0 both have questions about thier recieving ability.

Personally I really dont like it either, I belive we pass on Moreno who I think is by far the better back and will excell as a pro more. I dont know much about the last two guys, but I think the Jets need to draft some kind of DB in round 2 or 3

I really like Walter much better than scott wright imo but yeah the mock sucked, Nicks is probably the choice there and if it isnt its gonna be Maclin. Louis Murphy is not a number #1 and whatever jets think that Freeman should be the pick ,have no idea what we need.

If there isn't a QB available I love the idea of a RB/WR combination first two rounds. However I don't like the players selected in this mock. The only RB I would take in the first would be Moreno, otherwise Jets would be wise to take a WR first(Nicks)then hope one of Brown/McCoy/Greene in that order is available in the 2nd.
