And with the 61st pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, the New York Jets select...

I would have liked some DL or pass rush help (Carrinton or Griffen) but it's a solid choice.

Definetly solid choice. i thought the Griffen value was too high to pass up.

They're calling the guy raw with a lower ceiling, a project.

Did we just burn a 2nd round pick on a project?

Edit- please recognize that I don't know a thing about his body of work.

I thought it was probably going to be OL, hopefully he develops into a beast.

Vlad The Impaler. What a great pick. He is a monster LG who can work both sides.

I thought he would go early 2nd so late 2nd is a great grab.

Where's the DE? Shaun Ellis is one starter who is the other? I understand the pick but one huge need is DE!

Oline depth, just what we needed. I love the pick but in no way shape or form does this now make Faneca expendable.

I like addressing the OL. You'd have to be stupid to not address it before it's too late and I like this pick.

Like the pick seen him play he's a mauler running game won't miss a beat if fanecas gone. Still quality DL out there if they trade into 3rd

I'm thinking that since the rumor around the mill was that Vernon was moving to DE, and with Jason Taylor singing, Rex and Mike think that the D is set. And with the rumors of Faneca being released, the Jets were going OLine in the 2nd since drafting a CB in the first.

Great pick, I trust our OL Coach Bill Calahan to evaluate linemen and pick the right guy.

This makes Faneca expendable now to move back up and save us money to get our core guys signed.

We have to keep our line young! I like this pick.

He was a steal, best olineman on the board IMO, but I don't understand cutting Faneca and messing up the line chemistry that we saw is so important when we cut Kendall. I like Ducasse's versatility, he'll be able to replace Faneca at LG or Woody at RT, but I think we could've waited until next year to take a guard or traded down and taken Jerry or Asamoah if Ducasse was taken.

I love this pick, we needed more youth on the O-line.

Dude, it's abundantly clear that Alan Faneca will not be a Jet this season.

Tanny said in the pre-draft press conference that in Rex's system they feel like they can find DE's in later rounds.

This guy has been going against I-AA defensive lineman, he will need some time to adjust to the pro game, with players that much bigger and more sophisticated. Faneca should not go anywhere, for the time being.
