Call me crazy. I know we just traded for Harvin, but apparently VJAX can be had for a third round pick. I say we pull the trigger here too. Next year we can let Kerley walk, slide Harvin into the slot and have 3 great receivers. Use ROS to have the group gel. Also, VJAX to my understanding has a relatively cap friendly number going forward since much of the money isn't guaranteed. What do you think? Am I going nuts or does this make sense?
How old is he? I wouldn't mind trading these picks as long as they turn out like Ivory and have multi year deals
hes turning 32. not young but he's got enough left. we have that group next year with amaro hopefully taking a step forward and money to fix our secondary I think we will be back in the picture REAL quick. we can use most of our picks and draft secondary and OLINE.
There's simply no way we can sink that much money into WR's. His cap hit next year is $10 million which would invest $30 million basically into 3 players at the same position. Sorry dude there's just no way.
What is Tampa Bay already trying to unload salaries because again things again haven't worked out for them. It's not a bad idea although I'd keep Kerley. But everything hinges on the players willingness to renogotiate. You can't pay them all 10 mil per season. If you can get each guy for five then it's worth pursuing. Unless Idzik wants to explore drafting someone. Beckham should have been the guy. And they wanted him. OK so Reese beat out Idzik for two good players, DRC and Beckham. But there's plenty of fish in the sea/
I would have preferred him over Harvin, but not in addition to. Though I guess we aren't really committed to Harvin anyway.
Doesn't matter how many WRs we load up on. If our QB can't perform even a one-step dropback without getting hit immediately, the ball won't get there. After the Harvin signing, our priorities have shifted. We need a left guard, a right guard, a left tackle, and a solid CB before we can think of throwing away draft picks on another receiver.
We also need a QB, Smith is not the guy It's not just the oline, it's a guy who cannot play from under center, which makes them one dimensional. I don't even think they are running the west coast offense anymore, just a basic version of it.
The goal in the NFL for any team is to stockpile talent. If Jackson can be had for a reasonable price like a 3rd rounder, i'd have no problem pulling that trigger. Jackson and Decker on the outside with possibly Harvin in the slot/jack of all trades kin of player along with Amaro would be nice. You could let Kerley walk and save some money there as well. Then you can address other needs in the first 2 rounds like O-Line, CB, or possibly QB as well. It's really not a bad idea if the report is accurate cause realistically who are you going to find in the 3rd round whose better than Jackson anyway? Especially given the Jets track record of drafting on the offensive side of the ball. People make to much of the draft. A good player is a good player. It doesn't matter where you get him from.
Too old. He's been having wrist issues all season. Plus he's on my fantasy team, going to jets would suck lol
