If we could evaluate him without losing a roster spot then I'd take a look. I wouldn't risk losing a healthy body from the team to double down on someone who is probably broken - he's not markedly better than what we have.

    LOL

Why is this an argument everytime someone brings up a guy to potentially sign? There are countless people on this roster right now you could cut and not even blink an eye. You act like our roster, other than the main starters, is so perfect we can not afford to lose anyone on it.

Brown is very hit or miss. He goes multiple games with disappearing. Not as drastic as Hill but it's noticeable. Add to that the injury history and this guy's really not an upgrade over what we currently have.

Then who would you cut? It is a legitimate question. Do you cut a CB with all the in juries we have had? Cut someone from the O line? One of the WR they have been evaluating all camp and felt deserved to stay?
You have to cut someone to add someone so to act as if it is a silly question is just avoiding reality?

There are multiple players you can cut on the practice squad. Guys that cleared waivers and will likely never be starters. Cut one, add one. Cut one, add one. Something you will likely see Idzik do throughout the next couple weeks.

And you want to do this for someone who was injured in July and has not even practiced since?

I never said I wanted to sign him lol

I said that the excuse of "who will you cut for him" is a bullshit one. There is always someone who can be replaced.

So instead of just answering the post, "Vincent brown is about to get an injury settlement...and let's just say we did do this, who are you cutting?", with who you would actually cut you start this shit.
You need to cut someone to add some, period. That was his point. Did you actually have an answer to that?

    Sure. You want some names?

Brent Qvale, Tevita Finau, Kerry Hyder, Rontez Miles, etc. You pick your poison.

If the front office felt the need to pick up Vincent Brown and that he was a better option for us, then you pick a guy to cut. Front office would need to feel Vincent Brown had a brighter future here so the said practice squad player is released.

I don't get where you're going with this lol there is always a guy who can be cut. There is never a time where every guy on a roster and practice squad is non expendable.

so you are carrying how many receivers over guys who have been with us through camp and are familiar with the team I suppose. got it.

I don't agree with you, but that's ok.

If Vincent Brown is healthy he's a good pick up. But he's simply not.

You'd have to cut someone on our 53 man to add Brown, Meachem, or whoever else to it. I'd cut Enunwa and sign him to back to the PS.

Meachem to me is a better add. If the Jets are going to add a WR I think a much better case could be made for Meachem.

    Not true.

If no one signs him with his current contract, he applies for an injury settlement. He can then be signed to either the 53 man roster or the practice squad. Likely the practice squad due to his injury.

If we are talking PS for Brown then 100% on board assuming he's not flat out broken.

The OP was talking about adding him to the 53 therefore I was answering as if we were signing him to the 53.
