An AP article on FoxSports.com The Vikings 17th, both 2nd rounders and a third, would you do it for our 4th?
I'd almost always do it if the compensation were right (haven't checked on the proposal you stated)... in this draft I would do it only if the compensation were right AND Mario was not available.
i would pray for the viks to trade with us b/c then we can get DeAnglo Williams who allot of people are saying is goin to be a sick pro
No way, that's not enough. Moving up from 13th to 4th cost us 2 firsts and a 4th with Robertson. But to move up from the 17th? It would cost more than just a first and two 2nd's.
This years first (17), one of the two seconds (48 or 51), next years first Draft Value Chart: 17- 950 points 48- 420 points 51- 390 points 16- 1000 points(middle pick in '07 Draft) 4- 1800
I think we should trade down n get d williams b/c hes a consistant playmaker and he also played wit a terrible line so i love that deal
I like the idea of grabbing D.Wiliams and we may still be able to grab a guy like Lawson at 29. We've heard so many scenarios of possible trades but this one could actually make some sense for both the Jets and the Vikes. Either Leinart or Young will be there at #4. Don't be suprised to hear ... "The New York Jets have traded the 4th pick in the draft to the Vikings, Minnesota is now on the clock"
The rumor is that while Minnesota is looking to trade up, they are not looking to trade up all the way to #4. If the Titans take Leinart, the Vikings probably would only have to trade up to 8 or 9 at worst to get Cutler.
Just curious, where does it say they aren't looking to trade to the 4 spot and that they are targeting Cutler?
So OK. I agree moving up to #4 is too much for Minnesota. ....but if we trade down to say Oakland's pick, we could draft Cutler and then trade him to Minnesota. Essentially we would be picking for Minnesota. We pick up Oakland's 2nd rounder in the trade down and then get Minnesota's first and second. That would give us a 1st (#17)...three 2nd's and two 3rd's. I think I would do that. Many say that after #15 the 1st rounf talen drops off, but picks up markedly in the second and third rounds when discussing value.
Every year someone blinks. It's usually us. Maybe this year it is the Vikings. They have a bit of a PR mess on their hands. Both the star players of that team are gone (DC and RM) and they need some star power as well as a QB of the future. This could be Hershel Walker 2 ... we already know how HW 1 ended. The Jets could play the part of the Cowboys, only without being a team of arrogant A-Holes, followed by losers who follow the front-runners.
Cutler I understand everyone has players they really want to see in a Jets uniform. I am not for or against drafting Cutler, honestly I did not follow his career. All the info I have on him is from internet soundbytes from sportswriters and some combine info. Has any team in the Top 10 picks, much less the entire first round gave the impression that they are looking to trade up for him OR that he will not get past there team's pick? I may be off base, but I think the Cutler hype may be a little off base. He may turn out to be great but this smells alot like the Ryan Leaf situation a few years ago and alot of people lost jobs because of that mess. I'm thinking the Vikes trade up for either Leinart or Young at the 4 spot. Gotta think the fans would be happy bringing in a Big Name rookie QB.
