I've only been able to catch on Jets game down in VA but I wanted to know what people thought of Hobson's acclimation to the 3-4 scheme. He has 2 sacks so that is a positive, but many of us thought he would be the least likely to succeed in the new scheme (as far as the linebackers go). Just wondering if any views have changed on him? For that matter do you guys think we are well enough off at OLB to avoid using a high pick on the position? I have been a big advocate of getting Moses or if not him than Adams. If Hobson is a success and Thomas looks pretty good, maybe we are better off then we originally thought. Thoughts?
He's been doing pretty well. The fumble recovery for a touchdown showed his hands and he actually does have some speed. He also gets a good pass rush at times. In the second play of the game when Roscoe Parrish scored, Hobson drilled Losman as he was passing the ball. I'd say he's improving and the "light" is turning on for him.
As good as Thomas looked in the preseason, he has yet to make any impact plays this year. I'm hoping he makes a few to remind us he is there. I'd still say we need another LB. Hobson is the weakest link, although he isn't bad at all, its just another position that can be upgraded.
We still need a NT and a pass rushing OLB to become a top tier defense. I would draft a OLB high in the draft this year no matter where we are selecting.
http://www.blackcollegewire.org/sports/050628_big-tigger/ford_hobson.jpg I would post the picture itself, but when I made that thread...Alot of people had to whine about the picture, to where the Mods had to move it to the BS section, which is cool...But the whiners because Melissa Ford had some clevage showing...Here it is.
Yeah its kind of sad people are offended by that photo. Im against all censorship and I see people dressed like that all the time.
You'd all have a smirk on your face too if you were thinkin' 'bout havin' them things slappin' you upside the head at the end of the game!
I thought this thread was about Hobson....not Thomas ? Anyway Hobson is a good player that happens to be playing out of position. I see that he would be strongest playing inside in any defense. Why the Jets' have him playing outside with his lack of speed is a total mis-use of his talents. Vilma should be playing outside....basically....Vilma & Hobson should switch positions...IMO.
Jesus Victor Hobson just winked at me.......................I have not done any drugs either. Seriously, people actually complained about that picture? They need to get out more.
