I'm not sure how legitimate this site is, which is why I put unconfirmed. http://www.sportsnetamerica.com/bleeding_green.htm
I like the 1st deal more, because we can use the pick in a trade up next year for Brady Quinn. Wouldnt mind a top 15 pick either, though
Hopefully it is a done deal...I love the first option...a second rounder this year and a first rounder next year is GOLDEN... Good job Tangini Even if this source isn't 100% correct it is pretty obvious a deal with Atlanta will be done at some point...
I think I'd take the second option. Just because, I think Atlanta will definitely be better next year, and will be picking towards the bottom of round one. I'll take the 15th pick, even if it's only a 3rd round pick for 2007. However, knowing where Mangini comes from, I could see him taking the first round pick NEXT year. With that said, either option would be suitable.
I understand why you would want option 2, but I feel that getting a second and a first is a better deal. I don't know who they would be targeting at 15... Can't wait to hear the deal be done.
Actually you are probably right...if that offer IS on the table, I don't think there is any doubt the Jets pass on that 15th overall pick...
as much as i like the idea of getting the 15 overall this year, i cant pass up a garaunteed 2nd and 1st. we can use that first rounder next year to help trade up for brady quinn or maybe adrian peterson if he continues to be a beast or dewayne jarrett, hes good as hell
I'd rather have the 15th overall, cuz I think they'll be a little higher next year (in the draft order)
Yeah I think it is a no brainer...take #15 overall and the 3rd rounder... Having said this, I think that website is BS...they apparently reported something similiar about Abe to Seattle
I like option #1 better. Even with Abe, they are no better than a 9 win team. Last year, the falcons pass rush was not a problem, it was more their pass and run defense.
Option two has a lot more value than option one. A 1st round draft pick next year is only valued equal to a second pick this year. So comparing the two in scenario one we get the equivalent of two mid second round picks vs scenario two of a mid 1st and a mid third. The disparity in value bwteen the two makes it hard to believe there is any truth to this rumor.
Does that value chart take into consideration draft depth? This years draft seems pretty damn deep. A mid second feels like a late first. there should be some great value there. I'm really splitting hairs though as I will take either happily.
