Tonight on the Isles season preview on FSN (a truly terrible special btw, it looked like it was edited by a 10 year old), Ted Nolan said something that I think rings true for baseball as well as hockey: Offense is like the weather--some days it's great, some days it's not. You build consistent success with goaltending and defense (or in baseball's case, pitching.) Some nights the Yankees will score 16 runs, some nights they will score 0. If Mussina, Johnson and Wang don't hold up they aren't winning a title.
It's inept games like this which make me nervous come playoff time. There is a greater chance of scoring ZERO runs than 8 runs in playoff games. The latter is our specialty.
Well there it goes. Regardless, Cabrera could be one of the best young pitchers in baseball if he had halfway decent control.
And the game is over. Oh man the game ends the Double Play. Great game for Cabrera. Can't believe the Yankees were so close to getting no-hit. 7-1 FINAL. O's Win. Yankees take the sereis 2-1.
