So what does everyone think of UCLA and this matchup up? Any predictions on the outcome? http://und.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/101606aaf.html Game's on at 2:30 p.m. EST.
Poor coaching cost UCLA against Washington, a game they dominated and should have won. Poor officiating and a poor start cost them against Oregon, which they could have won. which UCLA team shows up, who knows. defensively they have good stats, but that is against questionable opposition. on paper, it isn't unreasonable to assume UCLA may be able to hang in there with them, or even pull an upset, but accounting for UCLA's brain dead coach, it would be a major upset.
In the next 5 games, this is easily ND's hardest one. However, they're not going to lose to this team, especially with UCLA's best player on the sideline. This won't be a game. Actually, the next 5 games for the Irish should basically be considered bye weeks for fans because we should win every game by double digits easily and none of the wins are going to do very much for us in the polls. At this point, I'm just hoping everyone ahead of ND loses except for USC. Beating them when we're 10-1 and they're undefeated might be enough to launch us up to the championship, but that's the only situation where I can see it.
Oh yeah. UCLA, and USC. That's obvious. Navy always scares me though. Their ability to run the ball and always chew up more time than us. Of course the game always ends the same way. What's the record again? 40 some straight wins?
The head coach of UCLA should be fired. He did his best Herm Edwards impression in the last 5 minutes.
A defense that allows an 80 yard drive on 3 plays and 3 completions in 30 seconds should be (figuratively) executed.
I'm not bitching. Am I not allowed to criticize UCLA's handling of the clock in the last 3 minutes? That ineptitude alone should disqualify them immediately.
