Love him or hate him Law has been one of the best CBs in the league , high praise indeed when he says stuff like It cracks me up when people still don't believe that hes the real deal. I don't want to bring other players names into this , but having to worry about RCB/LCB is right at the bottom of the pile for the Jets. Well worth trading up for.
The last thing I do is take what 1 player says about another one to mean anything... They're players, not talent evaluators.
I was quite surprised to read that Ty Law didn't refer to himself in the 3rd person when speaking of Revis, i.e. "Ty Law thinks that Revis is a premier cornerback."
I generally disagree, but in this case I agree with you. In this case, they're friends, of course he's going to pump him up. That's not to say what he's saying isn't correct, but if Revis sucked Law definitely wouldn't give any kind of accurate analysis. Generally speaking I think you can get a pretty good evaluation of another player when you talk about positions that match up against one another. So a left tackle could probably give you a good evaluation of the DE's they line up against, so on and so forth. Of course this is assuming they were not being biased.
Revis cost us Aaron Sears and some guy with maybe 4 tackles in the third round. I can never forgive Mangini for that.
I'm surprised Ty can even recognize good DB play any more. I'd have figured his patented play every snap 20 yards off the receiver technique would have skewed his opinions slightly.
see I don't necessarily agree. You'll get an accurate assessment of who gives them TROUBLE, not necessarily the best player. For instance, let's say a DE is an avg DE by all accounts. Doesn't suck, isn't great. However, for whatever reason, he gives Stud LT a ton of problems, gets sacks off him, etc almost every game. Stud LT is going to think Avg DE is the bees knees... but really he's avg. See my point?
revis is good, no doubt. but at our current drafting of talent pace, we should have 20 other players worth keeping in 10 years. in the mean time lets hope none of them leave or get injured in a way that takes away from their abilities. sarcasm or cynicism you decide...
Keyshawn Johnson used to bash Chrebet and talk up 'Fair Catch' Dedric Ward as a #2 wideout; just because an egotistical player has an opinion on a player of an opposing team's counterpart may not necessarily mean he's speaking from experience or from the heart, he may just be talking up a guy who bought him a few cognacs at the last stripper party they both attended. And Ty Law is the bggest ego this team has seen since Gastineau. However, in this case, Ty Law is absolutely correct to the letter.
Hey, this team could use another Ty Law and Gastineau right now, I watched the DVD New York jets the complete history and I miss those teams that had attitude and swagger, we need that teeth knock attitude around here again..
ok firstly 1. cant be high on someone unless ur totally trippin on shrooms 2. that aint even feasible or whatever you need 2 say in siturating 3. wtf 4. 5. yeah, he's good but u can't rool blunt w. him it 6. ??? 7. profit
