Was following a little of this yesterday afternoon. Samuels made some comment to Revis about how he should check the record book and history book. Like dude, Revis is about to be a 1st ballot HOF in 3 weeks. What are you even saying? LOL CJJ even got involved and went after Sauce and DJ Reed. If you have 40 minutes this was a decent listen yesterday. All the DBs got into a Twitter space and were chopping it up
He lost me at “the NY media props up the players they cover” considering the opposite has been true for decades.
dont think that's it. He doesnt have much of a relationship with his son. Jr was raised by his grandmother and characterizes his relationship with his father as "far distance"
Asante Samuel was a great CB. He not only had a LOT of PDs, but also a ton of interceptions. We can only wish that Revis would have had so many interceptions. If he had, we might have actually gotten to and won a SB or two. Samuel should just shut up, however. He sounds like a jealous, ignorant moron. Being a former Patriot, he probably hates the Jets and the Jets' players. He's jealous that Revis is going in the HOF and he isn't in when he perhaps should be. With all his PDs and Interceptions, I'm sure that he believes that he should be in the HOF, but the thing he needs to remember is that opposing teams stopped throwing at Revis he was so good, so he had limited opportunities to get PDs and interceptions. Samuel wasn't so great in coverage that teams ever stopped throwing at him, so he had a lot more opportunities, plus he had all those playoff games and SBs that boosted his stats. He may also be jealous of all the accolades that Sauce is getting while his son is pretty much being ignored. Sauce's cockiness may have rubbed him the wrong way, and he may dislike him so much that he is biased against Sauce and is going to downplay whatever he does. Gardner-Johnson should just shut up period. He needs to do worry about his own play and not that of other players at other positions. The following charts from Jets X-Factor show just how wrong Samuel and Gardner-Johnson are about Sauce and Woolen. From The Jets Way:
Woolen was nearly double yards per target allowed and 20 points higher on QBR. What are we doing here? Starting to think these DBs are more diva than WRs.
