    Johan is done.

4 runs allowed in each of his last 4 starts...those are pedestrian stats at best.

It's not like he's 37. He still should be good for another half decade. He's been sloppy this year because of the return from injury I think. Jake Peavy was in a similar boat. He was up and down with the Padres before they traded him and he was spotty with Chicago for a while. He's pitched better of late if I understand it correctly.

It's over - awful performance on the mound and at the plate today.

Francoeur makes up for a poor baserunning mistake earlier in the game by hitting a 2-run homer.
    Twins 0, Mets 2 in 4th inning

Niese with a nice recovery from two men on with none out.

Feliciano with a bloop double, continuing with the good luck.

A nice hanging curveball and Wright goes yard. Very poor pitching there. 4-0 Mets.

Bay joins in the party with a triple. That's his 1000th career hit. He's the 10th Canadian to reach 1000 major league hits, eh? Baker is out.

Game over with a 6-0 win. Mets finish 13-5 against the AL, their best record ever. If the Tigers hold a 5 run lead the Mets will be 1/2 game out.

I was out of the country the last 3 weeks or so, Mets have been playing AMAZING since I left. Sorry to have missed it!

I really can't believe this Mets team, there is plenty of time for a collapse but they have already eclipsed any expectation I had for them this season. They have also become a really likeable team which I didn't think was possible. Now if they can get Lee somehow and Beltran comes back strong they could be serious contenders. Doubtful but at least there is hope.

Omigod that explains why they've been playing so well. You need to get the hell out of the country again right away. :eek:hmy:
