?According to former Dallas receiver Michael Irvin, former Cowboys quarterback Quincy Carter will get a tryout with the Miami Dolphins today. Irvin reported the tryout on ESPN Radio Wednesday. If true, Carter would be reunited with Dolphins vice president Bill Parcells. Carter led the Cowboys to a playoff berth during Parcells? first year as Cowboys coach in 2003. Parcells also released Carter prior to the 2004 season for violating the league?s substance abuse policy. He played with the Kansas City Brigade of the Arena Football League this past spring.?
If he's into NFL cast-offs I hear that Kevin Swayne may be lured from the NY Dragons with relative ease...
With the evidence of the past few signings, I think its Parcells only. Sparano is a puppet. I have no faith in the man as a HC. But they said the same about Mangini.
kevin is good people i hope he gets back in the nfl. i had the pleasure to train with him a few times at powerhouse gym in long island.
I was just watching him in an arena game on a recent road trip, caught a TD for the NY team. Quincy in Miami? Better lock down the ports.
I liked Kevin Swayne. That guy played his heart out, I'll give him that. MNF against the Titans, that was fun. Even if 6-10 in the end wasn't so fun. Parcells/Carter, I don't know. Fat Bill gave him a chance with the Jets after Carter was having his share of problems, but here's what bothered me. Parcells was a lot more "tolerant" of Crackhead LT during his career, no? So Fat Bill didn't show up for Crackhead's HOF induction, but methinks his feigned disgust rings a bit false today. Carter, that was a sad thing. I don't make excuses for harmful drug use, but Carter was medicating a mental illness at least. Or so it's been heavily implied. I have to admit I'm glad Carter is getting another chance, even if it is courtesy of the same blowhard I love to hate. And courtesy of those pukes, the Dolphins. What a world.
I'm with you. Wasn't it something crazy, like 50 straight weeks of football...? 52 weeks. Somethin'...
