We just need to lose out, then the Pats only need to find 1 more win and we can prevent that, either by taking QB or trading to someone who will. Unfortunately looking at the Pats schedule it’s hard to fathom winning any game other than the Jets. Our luck NE will be locked in to their draft pick and then just beat the hell out of us for the fun of it.
We MUST draft a QB fuck Rodgers. Watch him come back and we win 2 meaningless games to screw us out of a top pick and we go D again. That would be so Jets.
so Jets would be he then gets another major injury - talks about coming back next season so the Jets do nothing to address the QB position and then retires just before the start of the season
The thing regarding that, as @Borat said in the other thread, is that Belichick knows that letting us win that game hurts us more than it hurts them. There's no way he lets us lose.
I've been on team "draft an OL or WR to go all in with Rodgers next year" but I'm slowly coming around on the idea of taking a QB instead. Regardless of what happens with Rodgers, we have nothing remotely resembling a long term answer at QB, and we'll be a trash franchise as long as that's the case. It's also pretty rare to pick in the top 5, despite how bad we always are. Sure, we've whiffed on every QB we've drafted, but that doesn't mean you should stop taking them. You have to keep doing it until you find the guy. It's the only way to build a long term winner other than having a mastermind offensive HC who calls plays and can make chicken salad out of subpar guys at QB.
The Jets don't know how to develop QBs. They can draft a million and it won't matter. Develop a great offense and then sign a veteran QB. Maybe if they can develop into a semi successful team, then they can go for a QB in the draft and develop someone who can come into a good situation. Otherwise, zero faith in this org to ever get it right
I honestly don't believe anyone truly "develops" a QB - I think the right setup can help (and the wrong setup can hurt) but QBs pretty much are who they are - the Jets just can't pick the right one
Well they finally have a decent infrastructure for a young QB assuming Rodgers is on board. The kid will be under no pressure with a healthy Rodgers here.
That's what we have so far: A veteran QB who will likely return next year. I like the idea of drafting a QB in the first round, having him sit behind Rogers for a year or 2 (If Rogers has a good year next year, I can see him staying another year). In the meantime, build an O-line.
And I bet you made another 10k bet against the Jets again too. All your stories are just so believable
