What an interesting prospect. A QB/LB from Montana State. This guy can save a roster spot. Very fast and physical as LB and can run by tacklers. If he's there in the 4th the Jets should take him.
I think you’re onto something.here. Only thing I question here is whether he s a better fit for a 3-4 defense or does it matter? I like versatile player like that ala NO’s Hill, 49’ers Deebo who can play multiple positions.
I've been hyping him up around these boards for a few weeks now. he'll fall to the 3rd maybe the 4th due to only 1 year at LBer but he has JD written all over him and grabbing him in the 3rd or 4th could be a steal
Agreed. The mock I did I had him taken by the Jets. I hope they can get him because he's a smart, fast, physical LB'er.
Been watching a lot of Anderson. Agree, very intriguing prospect. Runs like a gazelle... Think he would need a year or two of development before he could challenge for a starting spot. Has a lot of upside though. I wouldn’t expect him to be there at pick #111... Also think the Jets will address LBer in rd’s 2-3 with a bigger school prospect. The guy probably ends up a Steeler, Raven or Patriot. Always seems to be the case with these sort of prospects.
I will say, if the Jets were to select Leo Chanel in round 2, I’d be happy. He’s even a more all around freak: 6’3, 250 lbs 4.53 ‘40 40” vertical Put up 40 reps of 225 at pro day His other numbers were within range of Luke Keukely... His style of Lber play (brute run stopper) is falling out of vogue in the NFL... but he has some pass rushing/blitz ability... Could very much be like a David Harris+... Incredibly, I just looked up Harris and he never made a pro bowl yet had a great career - 11 years, 1,109 tackles, 36.5 sacks in 153 starts. I’d take that.
The reason I like Troy Anderson is that he used to play QB and I think that gives him the ability to read plays, and he also has the ability to cover and play pass "D" as well as run "D", but I haven't looked into Chanel yet. I'll check him out.
