Had a rocket arm. Never quite lived up to the expectations although he had some good years with KC. Overall a solid pro QB.

Unfortunately for Trent his greatest legacy may be the injury that opened up the way for Kurt Warner.

He's still alive? I thought Herman Edwards killed him, too.

Yeah, I lived in St. Louis that year, and watched a few of those preseason games (including the one with the cheap shot injury -- believe me, the replay was horrific). Before that injury he was rolling ... he was playing at least as well as Warner would play during the regular season in "the Greatest Show on Turf." Martz had an amazingly stacked offense that year.

What stick in my mind was the interview I saw with him a week or so before, he'd jut been traded to St. Louis, and was incredibly excited to be there because he'd grown up there, won the high school championship there, etc. He said it was his dream come true, everything was perfect. Then only few days later it turned into a nightmare, one that he never really completely woke up from I'm afraid.

Underrated player for sure. It sucks that his career had to end on such a bad note, but I think it's good that he's retiring; the guy was one hit away from a helmet to helmet lobotomy.

^ Green was great in St Louis but Kurt probably threw a better deep ball.

All told, he did alright. Had some good times in KC. But yea, that offense was unstoppable with all those weapons, a QB's dream. Great WR's and oh yeah, there's Marshall Faulk.
