Transition the defense- do we really need a 3-4 DC/head coach?

Listen, I know it was a headache bringing in 3-4 personnel to change the defense after Herm. It took a hell of a lot of work but I was not happy with the end product.

In the (hopeful) coaching search, I think it'd be a mistake to only consider a 3-4 head coach or a defensive coordinator. There are a hell of a lot of good coaches from the Tampa 2 or 4-3 that I'd love to bring in.

One final point, its far easier to transition from a 3-4 to a 4-3 than vice versa. A lot of guys on the roster would do just fine lined up in the defense they played in throughout college.

If the 3-4 of the Jets was great, I'd love to keep it. The absence of the pass rush really damned this defense at the end. Honestly, is anybody that impressed by the Jets utilization of the 3-4 that they need to be absolutely attached to it?

Bottom line- get me a pass-rush somehow, I don't care how it gets there.
