I hear alot of people saying that we should trade down and because of this deep draft i think that would be a really good option, but looking at the draft positioning and needs of other teams i dont really see a good realistic deal right now

Can some one point out a couple of REALISTIC scenarios in which we could trade down and it would make sense for both teams, because we need to get as many 1st-4th round draft picks as we can get .

Everyone seems to think that we could trade down with the Cowboys, as they've got two first round picks.

hard to gauge how realistic any of these truly are, but I'll bring them up anyway:

I could possibly see a few teams (Saints? Broncos?) for Laurinitis.
Ravens for Gholston (especially if they lost Suggs)
    Bears for a QB?

    perhaps seahawks for a rb?

Might make them move up a little high and move us pretty low....but hey maybe trading down a couple times wouldnt hurt....we do have a lot of holes to fill

I don't think it's realistic considering what the Seahawks would have to trade to move that far up. Plus the RB class is loaded where they can land a good RB without having to make a trade.

Our best hope is that the Bears want to move ahead of Baltimore to take the first QB in this draft. Pick 14 gives us one of the top 3 or 4 offensive tackles in this draft.

in all honesty if Gholston is there at 6 you have to get him and not trade down, he's a physical freak who makes plays all over the field, if Gholston is there and we either pass on him or trade him for anything less than a slam dunk, i will be angry

Thats probably the best situation as teams usually only trade up for qbs and if we get lucky we can force Baltimore to trade with us and move down to #8 and still get a second, possibly also a third and still get Vernon Gholston with the #8 pick.Thats the best case scenario i see.It really also depends on Terrell Suggs too, whether they sign him back or not.

Worst case we are forced to get a deal with the Bears to jump ahead the Ravens and we get stuck with 14th pick like last year but with that we are basically guaranteed to get a 2nd and 3rd/4th unlike the Ravens deal where a second is likely but another pick isnt. But if we get the 14th Gholston might slip away.

But if u can trade down and still get him u need to do that, we have too many needs not to be looking at all options

I dunno I could see the jets and Cowboys swapping picks with the boys tossing in a second this year and a 4 next year...

So cowboys get # 6 (Darren Mcfadden is the only reason i would assume they trade up...)

    Jets get #23 #30 #60 and a 4th rounder next year.

Someone break out the value chart... I think it sounds fair. And if they wanted to move up in the draft for Mcfadden, I would like to think we have the best availability. We pick lowest, so if he's on the board we should be cheapest. Also we cant justify picking at #6 if Gholston and Chris Long are gone, Which would likely be the case if Mcfadden is on the board. So we slide way down, to a spot where we can nab the two men we want. Possibly a WR or steal an end like Calais Campbell or a Quentin Groves... Plus that also gives us 2 second round picks and a 4th for next year. Sounds fair to me, plus the Boys get the "best player in the draft" and their great RB to pair with Romo...

I honestly think we are in really good positioning at #6. Maybe not exactly what we hoped for but we still have a lot of options and its very likely that one of the top 3 overall players will drop to us (Long or Mcfadden). We will have some quality choices with Long, Mcfadden or Gholston plus we are in decent position to trade down. Teams are always looking to move up they just need to find the right deal. After the last two drafts I have confidence that the best deal will be made and we will get some quality players.

Where can I find a value chart?

I don't think that the cowboys will give up that much for Mcfadden with Marion Barber on their team. I understand that Mcfadden is considered the BPA. It may be a good trade on a value chart, but with those three picks the boys could greatly improve their depth.

I think that it is to early to say. I think it will depend on FA.

I could see a trade with Chicago if they re sign Lance Briggs. I could see swaping first, Chad for Briggs, and Chicago's second.

I have been trying to dream up a way to trade with KC for Jared Allen. I keep coming to a huge blockbuster like the following:
The Cowboys Up to KC's #4,5,(for Mcfadden) for their #22, #30, and a 3rd this year, and next. Then KC would trade for our #6 and Chad. The Jets would get their #22, the cowboys 3rd this year and next. Oh and Jared Allen.

KC would fill a major need in QB, and pick up extra picks. With #6 they could replace Allen, or pick up their future QB, or trade down again.

This is a win, win, win.

Hedidn't look all that great in his last game. The guy is a physical freak but not the best value at # 6.

If Gholston is there, you take him. If not, one option to trade down is with Carolina, who will look to leap frog New England and New Orleans for Kenny Phillips or a CB.
