People have been talking about the possibility of trading our 1st pick for Denver's 15 and 22. The Broncos reportedly want to get vernon davis, and by trading up to 4, they can get him. I was originally opposed to this trade because I thought we wouldn't be able to get good value for positions we need at 15 and 22. However, with the recent player rankings, 15 and 22 for us could turn out like this: 15 - Winston Justice RT - Fills our need at RT. Had an excellent pro-day even though he was injured. He put up 225lbs 38 times!! 22 - DeAngelo Williams RB - Fills our need at RB. Runs a 4.38 40, and has been a consistent and dominating rb in college. I like his instincts and cut-back ability; similar to Martin's when Martin was productive. 29 - Nick Mangold C - Fills our other need on O-line. 35 - Bobby Carpenter LB - Gives us an excellent pass-rushing linebacker in the 3-4. I never thought that Justice or DeAngelo could fall to those spots, but recent mocks and rankings indicate that its very possible. We could get amazing value and reconstruct our team if our draft turns out this way. Although, I'm still enamoured with Vince Young, I would also love this draft. What do you guys think?
I could not dream of a better day for us! If we make the trade I would kneel and pray that justice will be there at 15! The more I think about it maybe this is a pipe dream!
