This may seem and probably is an intoxicated post but it seems we are stacked at Safety and we know EM loved ES. Just putting it out there that after a strong camp this trade coudl be a possible for both partie. Gets the jets the No 1 they need and gets mangini another disciple
Sorry IMHO ... Edwards isn't worth anywhere near that amount .... Maybe a 2nd straight up, but in no way is he worth a player and 2 draft picks ...
I'm not a big fan of Edwards but with the way our receivers are dropping the ball we might as well have someone with his ability out there.
eric smith is easily the second worst player on our team(other than rookies). I would trade ESMISH and the picks without question but no way in hell the browns franchise is that dumb.
I'd do that trade. I think a move would have been made by now, if there was going to be a move made. Our WR corps is fucking putrid.
+1 I know the plan is to be a smashmouth running team....but the reason why it worked so well for teams like the Giants...is because they had a big WR threat to keep the defenses honest. No disrespect to Cotch or Keller....but the Jets are severely "lacking" in that area.....and i think it will hurt the run game this season. I think Edwards would be a great addition.
EM would be dumb to take ES after getting AE earlier in the year. We're stacked at S? KR, JL, JI, ES, EC? I'm hoping EC makes the team, but nothing guarantees that. He'll prob stay on the PS. ES has been very ER-esque and JI has blown coverages (again) @ TC. That leaves KR, JL and ES as players ready to come in, play and produce. And you wanna get rid of ES? How are we 'stacked'?
Haha. I seriously wasn't even trying to Champ my post. I was just trying to keep with the theme presented by the OP. In all seriousness, I do hope everything is well with Champ.
I'm with you on this. Smithy has been pretty good in TC and I love the fact that hes a hitter too. Our D is going to have a stella year, lets not meddle with it. I would prefer to give up a 2nd for Crabtree though Even if he is being a brat.
A 2nd, a 4th and a role player familiar with Mangini's system would probably do the trick, actually. It's the whole $10mil to a wideout that can't catch that wouldn't work for me.
