the only players I was really dead set on in the 1st was Mariota and Winston... seeing how we probably will miss out on them what do people think about trading down?

I think a possible partner might be Kansas City. Assuming Amari Cooper is on the board and seeing how they have like I think one (or none) TD to a WR this year they might be interested in a buffalo/watkins type deal.

I think the WR depth is decent in the draft so we can still land a parker/white/strong(high on him) but if we can take say their first 2nd and 2nd next year we could also land a top flight DB and possibly a QB like petty/hundley (would prefer petty)

    thoughts?

    Easier said than done!

How about let's wait till we get a GM and Coach and look at things more objectively.

I'm down for waiting until we're on the the clock. We won't know what the options are until then.

Trading down usually seems ideal, but finding the opportunity to do so seems rare.

If we don't want or can't get Winston or Mariota, I would love to trade down and potentially get a 2016 first rounder. Next year we could use our 2 firsts to go and get the Qb that we want.

We need to be very lucky for this to work out, though.

I've been saying trade down since the Steelers game, when we pretty much lost any realistic chance at Mariota. We have plenty of holes to fix on this team and we could use those extra picks.

In a perfect world sure you'd trade down but in reality a lot of things need to line up to make that happen. I'd imagine both QBs and cooper will be off the board so who is someone jumping up for? Long way to go though.

I think like WW 85 said, it all depends on the plans of front office and coach. So many questions because of their QB situation and the free agents available and who they sign.

But, if Amari Cooper is sitting there at #6, I think their phones will be ringing. With the holes that they need to fill , trading down is their best option.

If Winston is sitting at #6, which may be a remote possibility, do they take the chance with him (off field issues and maturity)??? Their phones will be ringing off the hook.

Randy Gregory??? They may look to trade down depending if they have already filled that position in free agency -

    so many scenarios.

If Cooper goes before us I would trade down, but the question for the other teams: is there a guy worth trading up for?

At this point and time it's way too early to tell.

I have a question: if Marrone is the coach, and Winston is there, does Marrone opt for another FSU QB after getting burned such a short time ago?

Winston might not even declare, but for the sake of your question: I would say yes. Winston is leaps and bounds better than Manuel, and I doubt Marrone wants to stick with Geno otherwise he would have picked him over EJ.

They seriously over reached for EJ,the num 16 overall pick? And for some reason Marrone is now Vince Lombardi for drafting a bust and having a losing record overall

Why does everyone think head coaches are responsible for making draft picks?

Looking at the draft order, the most likely trade-down scenario I see on the board is with Minnesota at 11. They're an improving team that might see themselves as a couple pieces away from playoff contention. I could see them trading up for Shane Ray (or Gregory, should he slip) before the Bears or Falcons get a shot to pick him. Based on recent 1st round trades, the Jets could probably get pick 11 plus a 3rd rounder.

Well, if Marrone had sayso on the draft, then the trade for Sammie Watkins would not have happened. We do not know if he wanted E J.

Because its there team they have a major say in what players are gonna be on there sidelines .Its a joint decison but a coach can have huge input,it depends on the coach
