which of these would you perfer to do and who would you want to pick up with all the draft picks from the 1st round to the end of the 3rd round
When Cleveland drafted Kellen Winslow, they traded up from either 9 to 8 or 8 to 7 and traded their 1st and 2nd round pick to move up 1 SPOT! Why in the world would we take a 2nd and a 4th rounder to move down 5 spots! Who would we be targeting? Huff? Stay put if that is the offer.
stay at 4, is there a reason why you want to trade down so much? we have enough 1st day picks to fill alot of needs. What about mario don't you like? Our chances are looking good now that we might actually get him after the NO trade with ATL.
We have no reason to trade down w/ the # of high picks we already have. In a draft this deep, you stay put and take BPA
I'm looking to target Vernon Davis but if thats the case I want detroits 9th, 40th, and 2007 2nd round pick
Vernon Davis is not the answer to our problems. I think he has better potential than Winslow, but most are projecting him to go to San Fran at 6. Which is WAAAAY to high for a TE. Now, the WR class is very very weak this year, so that may lead to more TE being drafted early, but I doin't think TE should go before 10-15 in my opinion.
in my opinion this TE should go #1 What TE runs a 4.37 42 inch vert and benches 33 reps at 6'4 260. This is not an average TE. If yall don't get it now you will see, then which ever team he goes to he is going to be a problem for all teams. I say we get him and play it safe. This guy is the future. You see Gates imaging a gates that is even faster. And V. Davis has hands. You guys see TE and say no we dont need that but Yes we Do I dont care if it not a need. This guy can open up plays for us. With his combination of speed and strength this should be a pick at 9. Theres rumors saying he'll go to San Fran. I don't believe that. That is a smoke seen. I see san fran trading down to add more picks or them drafting either Hawk, Huff, Jimmy Williams or NGATA
Call me crazy, but one of the top three QBs will still be there at #9. With the draft being a guessing game, I feel the more picks we have the better. Add it is a fact that a #9 is paid a lot less than a #4 and it makes even more sence. Trade down and get more picks.
Vernon Davis is not better than Reggie Bush or Matt Leinart or Mario WIlliams or D'Brickashaw Ferguson or Vince Young and probably not better than A.J. Hawk. Just cuz he can run in a line really fast and bench press weights a lot of times doesn't make him a good football player. I understand that he is a very good TE, but for me, TE is a luxury position. The only position it is more important than is FB. All other positions should have great players before TE.
But they say we don't need elite players, we need picks. We have so many holes and blah , blah. Simply put, it's all about Leinart, once we have our future, we can build around him. Sad people can't see this.
We do have a lot of holes and we can't fill them all this year. We need to draft this year knowing that we won't win the superbowl. We have to make a 3 year plan to get the Jets dominating opponents. That starts by drafting BPA and then filling in holes.
im in favor of getting at least one "elite" player as well...my point though was how can you say its such a deep draft on one hand and then say dont trade down on the other...conflicting points
It makes perfect since consdering we already have 5 picks in the top 100 selections. There is no need to move down and eliminate ourselves from taking an elite player at #4. Pick volume and pick value is far from an issue at this point.
SUPER MARIO or Trade down.. If Mario is gone, I'd consider it just cuz the 4 spot will demand so much Money.
It's hard to take this poll seriously without knowing who is available when we pick - This would hopefully be a draft day decision after you know who is gone.... At this point I'm Mario or Bust.
