My QB's (all playing home) are:

    Burt Favre (vs Detroit)
    David Garrard (vs Philadelphia)
and recently acquired Josh Freeman (vs Pittsburgh) via FA.

I won't start Freeman because of that Steelers D this week, so he gets a pass. During the week, I put some players on the trading block and someone offered me the following:

Kyle Orton (vs Indianapolis) for Tim Hightower - straight up. The way I'm hearing it is, right now Kyle Orton has more points than Tom Brady, Drew Brees and a couple of other big named QBs. BUT...I also know it's been only 2 weeks into the season.

My other RB's are Pierre Thomas and MJD and I would have to go dig into the FA pool.

Should I make this trade? And if so, which of the 3 (excluding Freeman) QB's do I start this week? Or do I stick with what I got?

To be honest, I think Josh Freeman will be decent-good in the long-run after this week. My league doesn't have a flex option, so I'm constantly leaving Hightower on the bench. And unless MJD wakes the fuck up, Hightower could be a solid replacement. All the other RB's in FA are the kind that get 5-7 touches a game.

    Thanks for the help.

Orton should have a good year but between Favre and Freeman I think you are set at QB.

I would hold onto Hightower for now.

If you are only able to start 2 RBs, Hightower will probably never get a start unless one of your backs get injured. There is no way in hell I would start Hightower over MJD no matter the matchup... as long as MJD is healthy of course. Beanie Wells should be back soon, so Hightowers value may never be higher than it is right now, unless he goes off this week vs. Oakland which is very possible.

I would look to trade him for a QB if I were you, but you can probably get better value than Orton straight up. I would try to go after someone like Cutler, or maybe package him with someone else for someone like Shaub, Rivers, Romo, or Brady.

See who in your league is weak at RB, or who has a good backup QB on their bench.

I'm giving (as well as other Favre owners, I'm sure) Burt this week to turn it around. If he doesn't, I don't think it'll matter anyway, because he's getting replaced, so he'll be cut and to go along with what Jetskees is saying...

...I could probably afford to hold on to Hightower for another week while I wait to see what Favre shows. If Hightower goes off on the Raiders D, his value will increase where I could maybe get Orton and a mid-productive WR since I'm also lacking WR's outside of "Rowdy" Roddy (other WRs are Johnny Knox, Bowe and Mike Williams [TB]).

Either of you guys have a suggestion as to whom I should start? I'm going with Favre since this may be his last chance as the starting QB. Garrard is just too inconsistent.

MJD has been bothered by an ankle injury he suffered in pre-season. I don't know how serious it is, but I've been starting him week in and week out. I'm just losing my mind seeing all those points Hightower is scoring go to waste on my bench. But I'm not in panic mode or anything since my record is 1-1. I just hope he has his breakout game this weekend against the Eagles, if not, soon.

Hightower, Beanie or no Beanie, is a TD vulture. That said, I'd make that trade. Your starter (of which I have in one of my leagues too) is slumping and your other two QBs are not good, and play for teams that will prob. be 6-10 tops.
I say make the trade. Orton might not get the accolades, but he puts numbers up.
I'm with you on Favre, too. I have Eli as a back-up and I'm giving Favre one more week to fix things. Otherwise, Eli will be my starter for the rest of the season. I'm 2-0 so far, so Favre hasn't hurt me yet.

Appreciate the advice. Like I said, I think Hightower's value will still be high, if not higher, after this week against Oakland, so maybe I could get Orton and a bye-week WR since my group isn't so great. The guy who provided the offer has Michael Bush and Ray Rice, (yeah, he's basically with 1 RB) so he'd be smart enough to still make this trade after this week.

Against Detroit, Favre should be the starter for you this week.
