Wow, don't bitch about being benched there. I would pick him up to DH here maybe. "The Toronto Blue Jays released slumping designated hitter Frank Thomas Sunday, cutting the 19-year veteran loose one day after he was angry for being taken out of the lineup." http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/8053926/Blue-Jays-release-slumping-DH-Frank-Thomas
the Blue Jays are being stupid. They're eating contracts right and left for no good reason. They signed Reed Johnson to a one year deal and then released him before the season. Now he's starring for the Cubs. wtf...
Not from my understanding... you take him on and you take on his contract. I'm no lawyer but that was the point made on Ed Randall's show this week and he is usually spot on 99% of the time. They said you take him on for this year and if he gets 350 AB's (which isn't actually that many) he'd get the player option for next year. I'd imagine if he could be signed for the minimum he would be already.
My understanding is that Toronto is on the hook for all of it. That was announced when he was released so you are correct.
