I figure there is a good chance that at least 5 of these 7 guys will be there if we pick at #30. This is how I rank my most realistic options. 1 HOUSTON 2 REED 3 PAEA 4 WILKERSON 5 AYERS 6 KERRIGAN 7 TAYLOR (I'm not really a big Taylor fan, but if we traded back a few spots and took him or Moore, I wouldn't be that upset. You watch him against Oklahoma and he dominated. You watch him against Oklahoma St. and he was invisible. Strange.) I'm interested to see how everyone else ranks their top 5-10 realistic options for the Jets at #30. Pretty exciting that one of these guys is probably a jet next month.
I just realized your poll makes absolutely no sense either. Apparently, a single choice will magically create your top 7....and...what if those 7 players aren't in my top 7 to begin with?
Why? He should be able to hold down the NT spot, and play in a 4 man front with no issues. Allowing Pohua to flex at NT/End would be huge.
Obviously TGG doesn't give me the option to present you with a poll that can rank players. If you want to list your favorite 5-10 players, feel free. If not, continue to nitpick.
if we're talking DTs, I prefer Wilkerson or Liuget over Paea. We just cut a NT with a knee problem...we don't need to draft another one with the same issue. As far as the 1st round goes...I'd rather take a OLB or DE than a DT anyway. We need a pass rusher. Reed, Houston, Ayers, Sheard....take your pick.
What's up with Liuget? I know Rex seemed to like the guy, and visited him at the Pro Day. I've kind of ignored him based on his size- what position would he play for us in a 3 man front?
he'd man one of the DE positions, I would assume. He's kinda small to be a NT (he and Paea are close in size)...but I'm sure Rex would move him around the line as he sees fit.
Imagine how much fun the draft forum would be...if all our lists were identical. christ...I think I just "came" from all the excitement. Oh...and fuck Kerrigan.
Phil Taylor scares the shit out of me. I'm a Penn Stater, so I've known about the guy for about 6 years now, but man he's a hard guy to gauge. Watch the Oklahoma State highlights, and then tell me you still want him. I've got him in my top 7 as well because NT is a need and he's got potential- but that's a scary pick.
Kerrigan is too talented for a 4-3 DE to fall to 30 to be taken by a 3-4 team. So fuck this whole "realistic" idea.
