Guys, First let me say, I've been a member of TGG going on 10 years and have always been a major contributer in this draft forum. I've noticed a problem of late that is getting annoying. I'm not blaming any specific poster, but the amount of threads being created that don't pertain to the draft, off the wall and unnecessary is getting out of hand. I blame this problem on 3 issues: 1) Twitter mentality: Social media is about out of control and many TGG members post every single thought starting a new thread. See if you can combine your post in a similar thread. 2) Tebow mania has turned TGG at times, into a circus atmosphere. 3) Posters going on this site (forum) to troll. Well it may not be clear to some people, but anyone who continues to start arguements constantly to piss off others are trolls. I have always thought the Draft Forum had a higher standard than the rest of the board, we appreciate good banter back and forth. I won't tolerate insults and trolls and people causing problems in this forum will be addressed. I understand all that posters in the draft forum may not have as much experience or expertise as some members. That's cool, I always try to back up my POV with examples, past performance. I want posters that express their opinion , but tells us why you feel that way. Just saying , for example....."EDDIE LACY sucks "isn't good enough....give clear cut reasons you feel this way. I'm sorry if this Thread offends some, it's meant to keep our draft forum free from pollution. Overall. I appreciate most of the group in this forum. Let's remember, it's a privilege to post on a messageboard, not a right. If you have questions, feel free to ask. Thanks to all, WW85
Just my 2 cents, but I think it would clean up a lot of the clutter if the draft section got organized into several main threads focused on discussion by position. Then a section just for mock drafts. Because I expect there to be at least 40 different threads addressing pass rushers, then several for most other positions (specifically qb and OL) And im unsure how well this would work here, but "wiki" threads ive used on other websites were really nice. Like for instance if someone made a thread about Guard prospects. The first post would be a wiki post that anyone could edit. So if someone wants to add a guard that they like and their analysis right to it they could plug it into the first page. That way throughout the off season youd have a thread full of all the guard prospects with user analysis/opinion ideally organized by round. I mean it would help newbies to the draft make better/realistic mock drafts, and would make this draft section one of the better draft resources on the web. I really think something of this sort (or in general) would go a huge way towards cleaning up this section. I know last year there was an incredible amount of threads just discussing pass rushers. Dunno just my 2 cents
I appreciate your comments, some good points. I'm not able to set up sub forums, but I can merge, move or delete irrelevant threads.....I think that is the best way to control the excessive stuff. No one is ever going to change everyone that posts on messageboards. All I'm trying to do is controll some of the clutter.
Again, Guys don't be starting threads that aren't necessary since we already have a thread on that subject...Example: QBs. Glennon thread wasn't needed. I don't want a thread on every prospect, it's too much clutter. If it continues, I will delete threads, instead of merging them. THIS ISN'T TWITTER
As we closer to the draft. I'm going to put up players by postions. Example: Discuss Running backs/2013 draft This will help organize things and eliminate a one player thread.
