It may sound whiny to some, but Tommy Tuberville did something that most coaches seem afraid to for some reason and called out the BCS for being hypocrites in their refusal to create a 4 team BCS playoffs. He brings up some really valid points, especially that the system caters to a USC or a Texas instead of an Auburn or an Ohio State because the teams who play in the top conferences will never have as impressive a record as the teams that play 6 cupcakes a year. Teams from the Big 10 or the SEC aren't going to blow out conference opponents by 70 points.

It's an interesting arguement to be sure.

me and my friends have discussed this forever.

USC's sharing titles. Oklahoma getting in after getting shitted on by KSU. Auburn getting stiffed last year.

Theres TONS of more cases, and yes the BCS is a political fundraising tool for alumni and presidents so its pretty sad that college football enthusiasts who prefer NCAA over NFL (not me but know many) claim that these players do it for "the love of the game". that may be so but teams with press hype, easy schedules, and a big marketability via location or population for advertising usually find their way to the limelight before those teams with more talent and maybe 1 more loss

point in case i totally agree. good post:breakdance:

Tommy Tuberville was absolutely correct. But, now, I bet he wishes he'd shut his mouth.

While he is absolutely correct, they will never get rid of the bowl system. Too many people support it, and colleges gain so much money from the big time stage even if the playing field isn't completely leveled.
