Careful. The last time a Jets player took out a Pats QB, it led to Brady stepping on the field and the rest is history.
At this point our best bet is for Brady to play long enough that Belichick decides to go out with him and doesn’t get his hands on another QB
He knew he'd have to play well into his 40's to compile enough numbers to pass Peyton Manning. Now he's targeting mid-40's to try to catch up to Brees. I'd love to see the Jet's give him the Mo Lewis treatment.
Belichick scribbling on the napkin is what led to that history, not the hit. I'd love to see this mary fail without Belichick, but he'd never have the guts to try.
The last two all time great QBs to retire (Favre and Manning) both looked mostly fine until their last season, when their play cratered. The same thing may happen to Brady, and if it does, his contract status doesn't mean anything.
This is actually good news - he was always going to play as long as he wanted (or at least until his play collapsed), but now at least he’ll cost $8 million more on the cap.
Father Time is undefeated. It will get Brady one of these days. He's 42. no 42 year-old position player has ever started all 16 games in a season. ever. I don't think Brady will be the 1st and I certainly don't think he's gonna play till he's 45. this contract extension is a good thing for Jets fans because it just means they will have to figure out a way to get out of it
At some point father time will get him. Either way I just worry about the Jets. If Douglas does a good job building the team around Darnold then the Jets will be a dominant team in this league. It won't matter if Brady plays or retires.
Another year older, another year slower, the big dogs are coming after him and his line isn't as great as usual and he's a sitting duck in the pocket
Stupid should stay home and play with his kids, millionaire you won a million super bowls, what the fuck else do you want?.....cte is coming his way
yeah it doesn't make any sense. Oh well, hopefully its a Jets player that delivers the hit that ushers in the end of his career. It would be appropriate since it was a Jets player that delivered the hit that started his career.
So Tom Brady’s “extension”: - Raises his 2019 cash flow by $8 million - Lowers his 2019 cap hit by $5.5 million - Doesn’t actually extend the length of his contract What the fuck? Can we get a contract negotiator like this please?
It's basically a year to year deal. Brady has one more good production year in the tank at best. If they re-do his deal again next year, it will be their demise.
