my sister in law is in from maui for two weeks with her husband and my neice and nephew. all my in laws are Yankee fans and are attending todays game, about 20 something of them.my son was suppose to go with them being him and my nephew are 2 weeks apart. My father in law bought everyone yankee shirts and hats to wear to the game.

my wife calls me at 10 am and says there is a problem, lil 17a doesnt want to go to the game.so i asked to speak to him and see what the problem is.he gets on the phone pissed off about he is not going to no DAMN YANKEE STADIUM.

his exact words where IM A METS FAN IM NOT WEARING A YANKEE SHIRT AND IM NOT WEARING THE YANKEES HAT.

As im pumping my fist in work i try to explain his grandpa bought him that and it would be nice to wear it for him.he then says dad you would never wear that.which i agree and tell him ok you dont have to wear it.

but i tell him he still should go to the game.he again says i dont wanna go watch the yankees besides your not going and i only go to games with YOU DAD.

i am a proud father today. today i consider myself the luckiest SOB to have a kid like mine.who would rather tell his grandpa to go fuck himself then wear those stupid yankees shirt and hat.

Very shortsighted move by this brat. Some day he may look favorably upon having cool relatives in Hawaii who like to buy him stuff.

I'm sure you'll appreciate encouraging his stubbornness and valuing baseball teams over family in a few years when it's you he's resisting.

You should win father of the year. We should forward this (clean it up) to the Mets. They will probably let him throw out the 1st pitch.

That's pretty much the case for me too, but it's also okay that he didn't want to go at all - it's a baseball game, for God's sake. Does your father-in-law not know that you and your son are Mets fans? If he does know, he shouldn't have even asked him to wear the Yankees gear. Of course, it might have been nicer if your son had said this before this morning, so they could have given the ticket to someone else, or not even bought it.

Would you let your son go to a Giants game wearing Giants gear?

I hope he is not a Jets fan too. Its a cool story and I think its awesome but I don't want my kids to like the Jets. Too much pain for me to pass to my kids. If you gave him the Mets and the Jets you really screwed him. haha still a cool story. :)

So, you'd be totally okay if your son grew up to be a Patriots fan?
