-2 free 1st downs -STEELERS have No penalties called in the 1st half yet, -Our DE's are getting TACKLED -Holding on Slauson was very questionable but the timing was perfect for the STEELERS
The holding on Slauson was obviously holding, but what's up w/the 2 free first downs and Sean Ellis blatantly getting blocked in the back w/no call? It's clear we're going to have another tough one.
not the refs best game, thats for sure. but please, put the blame on this putrid jets defense and a HC who cant gameplan for shit.
The Rooneys and the Maras have owned this league for decades.....you think the Giants won that secret coin toss held by Goodell ? Rooney is a liberal elitiest...wants race taken into account for coaching but not for players. Wonder why.
The first down on the 9 yard play is one of the biggest officiating errors I have ever seen. Slauson penalty could have been a no call but he clearly extended his arm fully and hooked the defender so I can't get mad at that call. We need a pass rush with our DLine so bad. Roethiscock has had all day to sit back and pick us apart.
Here's the thing with the free first downs: I don't think that you can give up a 16 yard gain on 3rd and 17 then whine about a bad spot. You have to make that stop, period. As for the holdings, the Steelers are getting home team calls right now. But again, it doesn't change the fact that the Jets have hardly even gotten close to Roethlisberger. The refs are making things a little bit harder, but the real problem here is still the Jets shitty execution.
Stop blaming the refs! Damn man, we've been rolled on 3rd down all game long. Same with 2nd and short. ROLLED. ITS ON THE DEFENSE! They started from the 4 yard line, dont make excuses, the refs didnt put them in the endzone from their own 4. Rediculous.
I'm gonna say this.... The Refs are NOT why we are losing... but to totally dismiss it like it doesn't have an affect on the game is asinine.
Not sure how you guys can bitch about officiating when Cromartie has been interfering with our receivers all game and only has 1 holding call against him. The call on Slausen was so blatantly obvious it HAD to be called. Don't forget three picked up flags which should have been Jets penalties, including a questionable block on the opening kickoff. It's sucking both ways...
I posted this in the game thread. penalties through Week 14 Jets- 94 Jets opponents- 62 Steelers- 90 Steelers opponents- 71 There is not much of a difference. What do you think about those numbers, allan1?
