OK fellas, I'm going to swallow some pride a bit and see what you all have to offer. For guys who frequent the draft forum- Mr. E, Johnny the Jet, WW85, NDMICK, Joe Klecko, and really anyone who wants to add their .02. I would love to see everyone's top 5 ranked players they would like to see on draft day, if we pick at 30. Obviously you have to be somewhat reasonable, but I really want to see how everyone ranks these guys.
Not calling anyone out, just waiting for path to the draft to come on, and dying for some more draft opinions. I'm addicted to this years draft, and just need material to get me through the next week of waiting. So many players, so few picks.
hahaa yes, I was. Doesn't mean I don't appreciate input from him, or anyone else. I'm no master of the draft. Nobody on here is, it's too difficult to predict.
I was a little vague-- I had to run out real quick and wanted to get it sent out before I left. Basically, out of the players we've all discussed as being possible options at 30, I would love to see how they are ranked in a realistic top 5. Guys like Wilkerson, Paea, Ayers, Reed, Taylor, Heyward, Houston, Moore, Sheard. I figure most of those guys should be on the board at 30
1. Terrell Pryor 2. Brooks Reed 3. Enrique Iglesias 4. Marcell Dareus 5. Fran Tarkenton 6. Mark Ingram 7. Muhammed Wilkerson 8. OJ Simpson 9. Howie Mandel 10. Carl Winslow
Of the players who I think will be there(skill wise that fit our needs): 1. Gabe Carimi, RT, Wisconsin 2. Akeem Ayers, OLB, UCLA 3. Cameron Heyward, DE, Ohio State 4. Brooks Reed, OLB, Arizona 5. Mohammed Wilkerson, DE, Temple Of those players who Id want to draft: 1. Akeem Ayers, OLB, UCLA 2. Gabe Carimi, RT, Wisconsin 3. Cameron Heyward, DE, Ohio State 4. Brooks Reed, OLB, Arizona 5. 5. Mohammed Wilkerson, DE, Temple
NO NO NO NOOOOOO. That foot problem is a death wish, it automatically takes him out of the first and maybe even makes him fall to the Mid-Second. I like Taylor but wouldnt take that risk over Ayers and Heyward...
Mine is probably closer to yours Klecko. Houston, Wilkerson, Paea, Taylor, Ayers, Heyward, Reed, Moore. PS, watching Nick Fairly speak on the NFL Network is very uncomfortable.
I think I actually want Taylor now. I'm fucking torn. I've flip flopped on him quite a bit, but I think he's going to be pretty decent. I can't take the waiting anymore. Someone just club me over the head.
The foot thing was proven to be false, but I still wouldn't want him in the 1st round for other reasons.
Oh wow really? Oops than my bad OP and Klecko. I still wouldnt put Taylor in my top 5, mostly because of the amount of plays he takes off and his work ethic. But if I had a top 10 he'd be in it.
That is just fucking stupid, Jesus Christ, this is serious draft talk here and you guys try to fuck it up. He's easily going either one or two in this draft and to project the best prospect in this draft to be there at 30 is just absurd...
LOL Johnny, it's hard to know for sure, but supposedly the CBS Sports article detailing the foot problem for Taylor was inaccurate. The Jets say his feet are fine and won't cause any problems. Now they may be lying to get some other team to draft him, or playing some other kind of game, but Taylor also refuted the report and a source from the NFL confirmed it. Hey, just be glad I included Ayers. LOL I don't hate him, just like other players better. If I knew for certain that if they took Ayers this year, they'd also get a fast OLB pass rusher in next year's draft, I'd say go for it. The problem is there is no such guarantee. Reed's a football player, has a great motor, is strong and has great speed. Houston has great speed and can make plays. Heyward might be a better DE than Taylor would be an NT, but if Heyward's as good as people say he is, that's not so bad. I think the importance of the NT position and the greater need at NT trumps Heyward's skill at DE or Ayers at LB.
Rex thinks he's an excellent motivator of players. If he's satisfied with Taylor's motor, I'll trust him.
bigcotch, I'm not as high on Paea as I was. Then today I read this: Take it or leave it as you wish. I'm not a big fan of Baldinger's but he may have some input/perspective from NFL teams and may be right.
