I am a Jets fan, yet of the younger, future generation of Jets fans. I haven't suffered as much as you guys have, so I feel a little "lucky", but to those who have been with this team longer and been through the heartbreaking games that I have only read about, I just want to send out my congratulations. To note, I am happy though, because this is MY type of team with MY type of fans, so I'm glad to be a Gang Greener for life. :jets:
Same, I'm 17 and feel like I've had a life long supply of heart breaking losses already, I don't know how you guys do it.
Well, I've been around alot longer than that and I gotta say, this is the most dangerous Jet Defense I've seen since 1998 and 1982 before that. This is only one game but dayum, whatta way to close out "Giants" stadium...
Thanks, but I do at least have a Super Bowl win that I got to see. Nothing would make me happier than for all of the current TGGers to also be able to see a Jets SB win.
I'm really old. Watched Titans games as an adult. I thought I was a masochist but games like tonight's make worthwhile. Now let's do it again next week.
I was 10 when the Jets pulled off the big one...........and i still get pumped up when i listen to coach Ryan...........before tonites game, the interview with Collingsworth...............i just jumped up off the couch.............gave a kick and a fist pump, and declared to all in the room...............Rex, you fire me the fuck up!..........i guess i believe what he says. stay tuned!
I was 2.5 when the Jets won the Super Bowl. So I don't remember it. However I am old enough to have seen Namath run for a Touchdown at the Yale Bowl. Its been a tough slog since then however...
The 30-40 year old Jets fans have had it the worst. Too young to have witnessed the Jets win a SB but old enough to have many years of suffering. I'm happy, Jets are going into the playoffs one of the hottest teams in the league. I'm like the Jets though, I'm not satisfied. Jets have now been to the playoffs 6 times since 1998, the suffering doesn't end until we win a SB.
he 30-40 year old Jets fans have had it the worst. Too young to have witnessed the Jets win a SB but old enough to have many years of suffering. definitely. Im 33. First jet game i remember was the mud bowl. lol I been through allot of shit lol
It's been a tough road for us older guys. The 70's absolutely sucked, the 80's were inconsistent and the 90's I don't remember too much of.
Was nine for the first Jet Super Bowl and thats the day I became a Jet fan...long story..for another day..some of the long time posters know about that story (my fathers fat obnoxious friend shows up at our house for the game and shouts out he has $800.00 on the Colts..and nobody can root for the Jets...I was a sly little bastard even back then....didnt know what a spread was...I just knew that piece of garbage would lose a ton of money if the Jets won). Regardless..its been a tough road since..and I would never count that one...too young..but this team is heading in a great direction...a direction I can only remember happening twice since I have been a fan...this is the third time....perhaps the charm.
35 here.......... been luckily living in N.FL for a LONG time now, but the JETS bond has NEVER released it's grasp. I REGRET NOT making it up for the game with my bro & cousins tonight. It's not easy, but whatever doesn't kill you, makes you stronger...I hope :jets: :drunk:
I'm 34 and you're right - too young to have seen the SB win but old enough to have lived through 30 years of heartbreak. Ugh.
53. I watched them win the Super Bowl from the Hospital For Special Surgery in rehab from back surgery. Time for a repeat.
Who you callin old mother fucker? I'l kick your fuckin ass you little whipper snapper! Haha... Nice of you to think of us old guys. Thanks. We're goin all the way!!!
I turned 55 years old about 50 minutes ago. I saw Joe Willie, Snell, Philbin, et al, and I'll never forget. Having said that, I don't know if I ever wanted anything more as a Jets fan than to beat the Bengals next week and the Colts after that. I am seriously ruffled over all the "they laid down" and "gave the game away" nonsense. It's like our boys were never on the field, never had a chance. We have a rookie QB who has yet to prove he can win a game on his shoulders, but the rest of this team is damned good. With a D like ours, we are capable of beating ANY team. As usual, but even more so this year, we get zero respect. I want to shove it down their throats... sideways. I want Cincy and Indy so bad my nose is bleeding. I soooo want to shut these people up that say we were gift wrapped into the playoffs... it wasn't our fault these teams decided not to play us. I want... redemption...revenge...blood. Have a nice day.
