Mangini's practice sessions are causing team to run out of gas in the 4th quarter. He over trains his team. double sessions in full pads week after week are showing up with a defense losing it as the game goes on. Also I think it is killing morale. Between a defense(3-4) that the players do not believe in and his for long brutal practices he has lost this team. Vilma, Robertson, Barton and others are natural 4-3 defenders.
This time last year people were saying they were conditioned better than alot of teams because of the hard practices. The 4-3 guys will be shipped out.
I don't think it's been 'week after week', as the OP said, but Mangini did state that he was going to back to full pads, higher contact practices a week or two ago
Yeah, I remember reading about him ramping up practices to full speed to help our pathetic tackling, but I don't remember reading about double sessions in full pads week after week. Just a little hyperbole, I guess...
Please say you're kidding... What's really happening is we get the lead and #10 plays scared. The stuff that helped us get the lead goes away, and dink/dunk happens. Now our team was never good against the run, so that has nothing to do with being tired out. Also, there are NO double sessions during the season.
You're right. Jets made their bed with Mangini and rightly or wrongly he's going to build the team in his image. That means the writing on the wall for Jonathan Vilma as a Jet.
